How much protein do i need per day?!

Question: How much protein do i need per day?
I'm around 160lbs, 6 foot 1inch. How much protein do i need per day?

more info:
I have not a inch of a fat on me, im extremly lean. People say I have the perfect body for working out and i agree with them but its hard to find the motivation. On sunday, i had a sudden strike of motivation and that night i lifted weights like crazy. Did the same thing last night. My body is incredibly sore so im taking it easy. Also, ive been eatting eggs everyday as well as bananas, beans and other high-protein foods. thanks guys, good luck out there!

You need to do the research to find out what suits your body needs.

1 g per kg body weight is the usual recommendation.
1 kg = 2.2 pounds
180 lbs= 73 kg

This has always worked well for me. When I am running more than 30 miles a week (plus I always strength train 4x/week and xt 1-3days), I find I need closer to 1.3g/kg, but a 'normal-moderate/high' level activity- which is what you are- this is fine.

I'd experiment and see what level lets you recover the most quickly.

endurance runner, vegan

1.5 gms/lb of you body weight daily

I'm a supermodel too.

There are calculators online. All you have to do is find one of those and use it.

It's by weight...

How to Calculate Your Protein Needs:

1. Weight in pounds divided by 2.2 = weight in kg
2. Weight in kg x 0.8-1.8 gm/kg = protein gm.

Use a lower number if you are in good health and are sedentary (i.e., 0.8). Use a higher number (between 1 and 1.8) if you are under stress, are pregnant, are recovering from an illness, or if you are involved in consistent and intense weight or endurance training.

Example: 154 lb male who is a regular exerciser and lifts weights
154 lbs/2.2 = 70kg
70kg x 1.5 = 105 gm protein/day

Also, careful on eating eggs everyday. They are really good for you but you don't want high cholesterol. This is coming from someone who thought that was the best source of protein for half a year haha. Unless you're allergic, you'll wanna add in some soy or wheat-based proteins, too.

you shouldn't work out the same muscles every day split it up so you can still work out every day but rest your muscles, because if you dont give them a break they wont repair themselves as well. im 5"11 and 122 pounds and my doctor said for building muscle i need at least 48 grams of protein a day. So i take whey protein shakes and other things high in protein including peanut butter. Plus when i make my protein shakes i put the powder mix, milk, a bannana, and sometimes other fruits or ice cream in the blender. since your 160 you probably need a lot more protein than me.
