Watermelon (high iron) with a glass of OJ or fortified apple juice (vitamin c) makes a great snack. Broccoli is also a great source. Eat high fiber iron sources - iron can cause constipation and fiber will help. My doc recommended the Slow Fe supplement due to anemia - talk to your doc and see if you even need to supplement as too much iron is also detrimental to your health. They can do a simple blood test to check your levels and let you know if your deficit, if any, can be met through your diet.
