There are lots of rice based products you can use - and packaging is so much clearer these days that it is quite easy to manage. Most vegetarians steer away form pretend meat products - but why not make your own? Simple foods that you know what goes into them are much better than the bran-filled, salt-laden processed-to-death thingies that you see in supermarkets. You have a huge range of fruit and veg to choose from - so don't think it is apples and sprouts.
With all the advice on the intenet these days its never been easier to cope with these sorts of conditions. Durum wheat in some pastas may be OK for you. Genius products are good - but as you say pricey. Try contacting the Coeliacs Society for advice and recipes etc. And don't thnk you can't have puddings etc http://gluten-free-desserts.com/recipes.…
Oh it's horrible trying to find your way through, I've got a gluten intotelerant vegetarian friend. I got her the book Gluten Free Cooking Without by Barbara Cousins which is just great, I find I have to cook a lot more for myself. Having said that, the supermarket gluten free ranges have improved greatly, Sainsburys, Tescos, Morrisons and the Coop are all good, Marks and Spencers has a limited range. With regard to bread, if you can get hold of Genius bread it's wonderful, bread and danishes are my real miss! If you are in the UK Goodness Direct at www.goodnessdirect.co.uk is a life saver, and you will learn to see what you can eat. Good luck

Congratulations.
You will now automatically develop a much healthier diet. Most of the gluten containing produces has little or no positive effect on your system. A huge lot of cheap junk food is based on gluten containing flour. You will be more aware on what you eat and explore a lot of new thrilling tastes and combinations. There is a lot of info and good recipies on the net and in books and you will meet new friends sitting in the same boat.
Easy to purchase Cakes and baguettes will be a loss though.
Good luck to you and Bon appétit!
Try shopping the produce section. All of the fruits, veggies and nuts are gluten-free. It's a veritable buffet that consists of a lot more than 'apples and sprouts' lol. A lot healthier for you than the processed junk too.
That's not pleasant for you. In the link below you will find some recipes...........
