Question: All for nothing fatty?
ok, so i lost 35 pounds in 6 months, but i don't look any slimmer? i'm just healthy eating and i go walking for half an hour most days. is it possible that i could have lost muscle instead of fat? i feel like i've done all that hard work for nothing lol :(.. people say that they do notice a difference but others say they don't.. i don't notice much of a difference personally. I'm now 161 pounds. any answers will be much appreciated. thanks xx :)

Exercise is very important with weight loss also getting the 13 essential amino acids.

Losing 35 lbs is wonderful. Congratulations. Depending on how tall you are, you may need to lose a lot more to actually look slimmer.

Don't give up. Walking is a great exercise, but the truth is that you're not going to lose a lot of weight by walking. Exercise will help your body use the food you take in more efficiently. It will help you control your body better (less staggering around and falling), but it won't burn up a lot of calories. You still need to watch the calories to lose more weight.

(If an average woman weighs 150 pounds, and walks at a speed of 3 mph, then she would walk 1 mile in 20 minutes, burning 75 calories.)

IMO, you're doing great. Don't give up now....

First of all, well done for losing 35lb, in know it isn't easy. When you are dieting and working out your fat begins to convert to muscle, so it is really unlikely that you have lost muscle instead of fat. What you may want to do is change your exercise to begin to tone your body. Join a gym and get help with the resistance (weight) machines or look for an exercise programme that offers toning such as yoga or pilates. If you'd rather exercise at home you will probably find some exercise plans online or try investing in a workout video. Even if you find the whole workout a bit challenging, it should give you a general idea of movements to tone different areas. February is the best time to buy workout videos in second hand/charity shops as the first gush of enthusiasm and New Years resolutions fade out by the end of January.

Don't eat dairy. It is loaded with saturated fats and sugar lactose. The body also uses fat, or lipids, as fuel. If fats that a person has eaten aren't burned as energy or used as building blocks, they are stored by the body in fat cells. This is the body's way of thinking ahead: By saving fat for future use, it plans for times when food might be scarce.
Eating too much saturated fat can raise blood cholesterol levels and increase the risk of heart disease.
So, fat is not the enemy, but you'll want to choose the right amount — and the right kind — of fat. If you're getting fat from nuts, seeds, heart-healthy oils, etc. you've already made fat your friend!

No stay the course. What could have happened is that you lost the fat which well show slightly and you also gained muscles or at least toned them to the point that you may have lost body fat and do not notice it because of the familiarity of seeing yourself all the time and the same goes for those people that said they see no change..

Trust me, you will never look thinner to yourself. Unless you lose those 35 lbs. in an hour.

Start taking measurements at places like your thighs and upper arms. You may want to take a measurement at your waist but since your waist can expand without regard to your weight (gas, undigested food, etc.) don't worry about that one much.

just keep trying and yo uwillll get there.... instead of just walking for half an hour most days... try lifting some little weights... 10 pounds or so... and it should tone oyu up.... also maybe you are not doing enough cardiovascular exercises (running, walking,,swimming, etc) i hoep i could help some if you want anymore of my sucky information i'lll be here adios

I bet you're tall aren't you? I'm 5'10" and the same way, I lose and gain weight and it's hardly that noticeable. Shorter girls lose 10lbs and look completely different, it's not fair lol. But you know that you are healthier now and I bet your clothes at least fit you better.

keep working at it its gonna take awhile u have to tear down before u can build up
