I want to become vegetarian, I need advices?!

Question: I want to become vegetarian, I need advices?
Hey everyone...
It's been a while since I want to become a vegeterian, but actually I didn't had enough will... Today I saw the video Peta made ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4YX_iVWI… ) about slaughterhouses... and I cried so much watching it!!! I was so frustrated and sad ... I cant even tell how shitty I feel about this.... :( So yeah I think this was what I needed to really want to change my habits.
The reason why I am asking your help, is because even tho i think it's horrible, I adore meat! :( And I really want to stop ; so I need your help to give me some advice and anything I need to know about being vegetarian.... So anything you think I should know; please tell me. I already know that this massacre is horrible and I want to stop being a part of it...
Thanks for your help!

That ferret is ADORABLE. I have one climbing up my leg right now.

Anyway...Just start incorporating more plant-based foods into your life. If you love meat you might want to take it slow and not go full vegetarian overnight. But hey if you think you can do it right away, more power to you. A lot of people will stop eating beef for a time. Then they stop eating pork. Then chicken. Then seafood and everything else. Meanwhile you should be learning new healthy vegetarian recipes. Try new things and don't be afraid to experiment. Figure out what kind of meatless food you can make on a regular basis. Email me or ask another question if you want cooking advice.

Don't just eat pizza and cheesy stuff all the time like some new vegetarians. Sure it's easy and tastes good but it's not a healthy way to live. Healthy grains, fruits and veggies, and legumes (like beans and lentils) are the way to go.

Don't stop eating meat. It's never as bad as it looks with those videos, and if it is, we have a law enforcement agency that specifically deals with this scenario.

Common sense and an understanding of the meat packing industry.

don't let those Peta videos confuse you, they are old, fake and unreliable

take a lots of fruits n milky items

Listen i know how you feel, and dont listen to those other guys comments :( they have been messing up the vegetarian/vegan section today. I know its sad :(. Its ok that people eat meat and stuff but sick humanity have really messed everything up. Its extremely cruel now a days.

But we can't do much about it except not support the meat industry. Just eat more vegetables! :D Plus they have a lot of meat substitutes at stores like Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. But when buying meat substitutes dont buy them from products that also sell meat or you'll be supporting the meat industry with out realizing it? Know what i mean? Anyway, its not that hard not to eat meat :) My dinner usually consists of mashed potatoes, asparagus and a meat substitute. There are a lot of vegetarian recipes. I also recommend vegan ism because its also abuse to the animals. Its easy too :) just buy soy milk or almond milk from company's that dont sell regular milk or cheese (also to avoid support).

Wow I just realized I made a pretty big answer. Anyway I hope i helped.

I feel your pain, that's what made me go vegan. Here's my advice, and what helped me. Don't go in so suddenly. Here was what I did!

What I did was only eat meat every other day, then every two days, all while giving up one animal at a time, from October to November in 2005. My plan was to have turkey one last time for Thanksgiving, so that was gonna be my last source of meat

My plan was beef, then pork, then chicken, then turkey (I didn't count things like lamb, because I didn't eat that regularly enough, so that was just out entirely)

HOWEVER, by late October, while doing this, I just said "you know what, I'm done with meat", and I never looked back. I didn't even have Thanksgiving turkey, and I was more than fine with it

So I'd say ween into it, but when you're ready, you'll know, and just end it all.

Oh and by the way, those videos are EXACTLY what goes on, the government doesn't care, and people who say it's not that bad are just trying to keep themselves from feeling bad about the dead flesh they put in their bodies

Been a successful vegan for 5 years!
