they are the bad fats..:)

Saturated fats consist of fatty acids that contain as many atoms of hydrogen as they can hold.

It is possible to take an unsaturated fatty acid and add hydrogen atoms to it, making it more saturated. That process is called hydrogenation and causes the fatty acid to be transformed from a liquid to a solid at room temperature.

Fatty acids come in three types: saturated (can accept no more hydrogen atoms), monounsaturated (have one carbon atom that can accept a hydrogen atom, and polyunsaturated (have more than one carbon atom that can accept a hydrogen atom). Most fats have at least some of all three types of fatty acids.

Imagine a bus. If all the seats are full, its a saturated fat. If one or more seat is empty, its unsaturated (mono or poly).

Am I the only one who has no idea what the bus analogy means????
