Is whey protein good for building muscle?!

Question: Is whey protein good for building muscle?
I might try it if so, please answer truthfully, thanks.

Answers:

You need to exercise to build muscle.
After you have exercised, which has essentially caused small tears in the muscle, your body uses protein to rebuild and the muscles get stronger and larger.

Whey protein is one of many sources of protein which will allow your body to rebuild. It is popular among body builders as a quick, cheap way to get protein fast.
Any quality source of protein will work, however.

Just drinking protein shakes alone will not build muscle.

No!! there are many dangers consuming whey. Eat soy and other legumes, nuts, seeds, etc. They are better sources of protein other than milk derivatives. It's called food!!! The whey can overwork and harm your kidneys and liver.

By the way, there is a myth going around that soy has estrogen. That's an animal hormone.

Yes whey is the best!!.. my boyfriend uses it when working out n he get really big in a short time. the good thing about it is that if u stop taking it and stop working out u wiil go back to ur old u. the weight wont stay in like happend with protein, that u stop working out n u get fat!. so dont be scared n go for it :)

Protein is needed for building muscle
but it doesn't do too much unless you exercise with it
if you eat a meal that has a good amount of protein and then go and work out a little afterwards it builds muscle and bulk great :D

Yes, whey is considered as one of the best protein sources for muscle building nutrition.

It's okay. Animal protein is best but, since this is the vegan/vegetarian board, I would probably recommend soy as a better source of complete protein (no other supplements needed.)
