In the beginning of the nutrition guide there's a formula that determines what your calorie level will be. Each level has a different allotment of proteins, carbs, fruites, etc...
So someone who weights 200 lbs would probably be a level 2 and a certain recipe (call it recipe X) might have 1.5 servings of protein in it. Someon who weights 150 lbs would probably be a level 1 if they made recipe X they might have 1 serving of protein.
I personally prefer the "portions" approach over the "recipe" approach. There's more flexibility and it's less expensive.
