Go to Whole Foods. The 365 brand shampoo, conditioner and soaps are all inexpensive.

For shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, I suggest the Original Source range. (I use the Tea Tree And Mint shampoos and conditioners, and the Lemon and Tea Tree shower gel, but theres plenty of others to choose from).
Original Source also do handwashes. The vast majority of their products are vegan, and have the Vegan Society logo on. There are just a couple of things that have honey in that aren't vegan.
They are available in supermarkets, pharmacies in the UK. I'm not sure about anywhere else. They are very reasonably priced. In fact, if you are in the UK, I noticed today that Superdrug had a offer on Original Source shower gels today for half-price, so it'd be a good time to buy it and try it if the offers still on when you next go past a superdrug.
Original Source also do products especially for men, including deodorant, though their normal range of products would mostly be suitable for both women and men I think.

Vegan toothpaste is more difficult to find in a supermarket - I go to a health shop for that, where you'll normally find a few to choose from.

I found some soap bars for a little over $1 a piece. You generally won't find vegan toiletries in supermarkets. You'll find them in health food stores and such.

*a girl* is very wrong. In this day and age, being vegan is easier than it's ever been before, now that we have access to all these vegan products that were unheard of 15 years ago...

As for toothpaste, I know people who use baking soda only on their teeth, and that works quite well.

Keep in mind, most people really don't need to shampoo every day. Once or twice a week is plenty. Most humans shower way too much. My skin thanked me when I started showering with soap only a couple times a week. I rinse off the rest of the time without soap. So you really won't be spending any more money than you would if you showered/shampoo every day.

being vegan is an incredibly hard thing to do so you are just gonna have to give up some basic toiletries. i'm sorry but its the truth. just be organic and be vegan when the option to be is available. being a strict vegan is almost impossible in our day and age and will be for a very long time.

no such thing... sorry.. if vegan's on the label it's fraudulent.
