Some vegetables are little power houses of things that are good for you...some of those include broccoli, spinach, asparagus, brussel sprouts, artichokes, carrots and legumes to mention a few. These are high in antioxidants that help our body's cellular structures stay healthy. choose vegetables that are shiny, free of bruises, and high in color. Peppers that are red, orange or yellow are feasts for the eyes as well as the body. Don't be afraid to try something new and different. Google can be your friend with recipe ideas and information. bear in mind that just because you do not care for something in its raw form or in a salad does not mean you won't like it sauteed with a bit of olive oil, garlic, and a few herbs. Asparagus is wonderful baked at 400 for 15-20 minutes after being drizzles with olive oil and sprinkled with thyme. Spinach too, sauteed with garlic or onion and fresh sliced mushrooms can become a meal in itself. In the morning a nice omlett with mushrooms, spinach, and onions is a good way to get another serving of vegies into the system. They recommend 3-5 servings per day which is not hard to do when a serving size of spinach is 1/2 cup. Cook your vegetables just until tender crip and retaining much of their color to not loose their nutritional value. Many of the vegetables come packaged in steaming bags. They tend to be a little pricey but convenient. Steaming is a good way to prepare vegetables. You can also cook vegetables on the grill. Wrap them in foil, a nice selection I fix is asparagus, peppers, carrots , squash and mushrooms. Just drizzle with oil and Italian herb mix and place on the grill for 20 minutes. Yummy! Your starchy vegetables such as potatoes, peas, corn and lima beans offer a hefty carbohydrate and calorie content in comparison with the others and lack some of the nutrient benefit. If your weight is normal then occaisional servings of these is fine.

Yesterday I had mushrooms and that was all and I'm 5'4 108 pounds. You should avoid avacados cause those have lots of carbs and you should eat carrots for good eyes, spinach for protein and kale for blood that clots quicky. Take a look at a protein chart which has the different foods that give you different proteins.

That's side-of-the-road local. Weeds. What vegetables "should" you eat? Your choice. Lettuce isn't usually cooked but you can cook and eat that, even. Only, stay away from oleander leaves, ragweed leaves, and jimson weed too. BTW, carrots are roots, not "vegetables." Just saying.

Not today.. I've had breakfast but skipped lunch cos I'm not hungry. I eat only when I'm hungry. I will work out in half an hour (am actually at the gym) so I will have some "power snacks" later. Dunno if I will have dinner.

I am 6'0 and weigh 185 now. Like you I do weight training and cardio exercises including boxing and jujitsu

Both on the DAILY exercise and the healthy eating. Both are difficult, especially when there are so many distractions and excuses to be made.

Avoid the veggies you don't like, but still eat a wide variety (colorful) on a weekly basis.

Keep up the great work!!!!!

None really. All vegetables are good for you, just proportion them well and eat as many different kinds as you can. They all do the body good in one way or another. In my opinion, greens such as spinach and broccoli are the best. Good for the eyes, skin, hair, blood. Amazing.

i just had a tonsillectomy, so i can only eat avocado

avocado is fatty, and you might avoid that. or only eat once in a while. otherwise, dig in

If you are not allergic to anything you should not avoid anything. A well balance meal is the best approach.

you must eat more calories food

I ate a lot of cabbage today

I eat lots of spinach!

I ate mine today :D

Although peas, green beans and beets are acceptable....and I'm 5'3" and 115 lbs...
