You can gain weight on a vegan diet, as it's based on calorie intake, not the source of those calories.
Veganism isn't a weight loss method, and when you're looking to lose weight you need to adopt a diet and exercise regimen for the long term, not a week or three days.
This is the reason you're overweight.
Until you realize that you need to adopt a healthy LIFEstyle, you won't lose weight. End of story.
You probably won't lose weight becoming a vegan. In fact you might gain weight if you don't eat the proper foods to balance everything out. I know a very fat vegan. I've also seen thin vegans. The best thing is dieting properly & exercising. You might even try fasting but be careful.
Becoming a vegan doesn't mean you'll lose any more weight than usual. It all depends on the fat content and calories of the food you eat. Just exercise and watch your diet.
Depends on what/how much you eat. You still need enough calories etc
