here is a question about vegetarian ground beef substitute?!
When I make taco meat I usually simmer ground beef in water (or Coke) and a bunch of seasoning for a good hour until the meat is good and cooked. I might brown it for thirty seconds or so before I put in the water. If I am preparing the same thing with vegetarian ground-beef substitute, will I get similar results if I do the same thing? Or, because the substitute is already "cooked," should I only simmer it for ten minutes or so?
Thank you

I have used vegan grounds to make tacos, and they usually cook pretty quickly (you also want to add oil because they have a lot less fat than meat). It's pretty much already cooked and just needs to be heated up, but perhaps you could give it a quick spin around a saucepan and then simmer lightly.
Simmer it in some pasta sauce (from a jar)--your choice.
Put it over pasta.
I've tried it in "helper" type boxed meals (not bad, though I used the regular-flavored stuff) and chili.
Now, if it's those granules, you'll have to reconstitute them, but I'm thinking you mean the already-"cooked" kind that comes in a pouch or frozen.
It's basically like if you cooked actual ground beef--check for recipes that require you to brown the meat, and then just go from there. It'll save you some time since it's already cooked. It just needs to be heated up.
Vegan/Raw Vegan.
Just use veggie mince exactly as you would with the meat variety.I use it in all the meat dishes that carnivores have, i add veggie stock cubes, tomato puree, garlic and herbs but you can add whatever you like.Just use it exactly as you would meat.
You simmer ground beef in coke? ok....
Boca crumbles or Gimme Lean is the best kind, just brown it in a pan with a little olive oil. If you add taco seasoning, no one will know the difference!
