theres not really any answer to "is it good to be a vegetarian", in my opinion i think theres no point because meat is healthy, delicious, and not gross at all. but i guess everyone has an opinion. and no you cant eat fish because fish is still meat.

It did not make me lose weight, but that's because I eat healthy in general, male junk food eaters would def lose weight though I think. Although; everyone's body is different. Some people don't lose an oz, but feel much healthier so they can run around and lose weight themselves.

Legumes/beans,nuts, tofu burgers, other morning star foods. If you're a vegetarian you don't eat any animal, you always have to check labels too to see if they contain gelatin or some sort of animal product that isn't vegetarian.

Personally I was a vegetarian for a year but due to my dietary restrictions from my Wilson's disease & chest pain/fainting I had to stop despite being on vitamins too.

There's plenty of protein laden foods where people are completely healthy being such, I would suggest you google it, but slimfast is also a good alternative.

PS: Try a nutrition alternative stores!!! Even if you have to go to 3 to find a good one. You know, organic vegetarian places. There's a bunch around here, perhaps there's a bunch where you are also. Talk to the workers there.

Life experience

Vegetarians dont eat fish, protein can be found in many plant based foods including beans, pulses, green vegetables, grains, tofu and soya products. There are no deficiencies or nutrients for optimal human function that cannot be obtained from plant food. Many vegetarians tend to be slimmer because are not consuming large amounts of saturated fats but if you carry on eating cakes, crisps and sweets then you will be overweight, generally speaking vegetarians are slimmer and healthier than carnivores.

if you are not finding alternative ways to get protein it is not good as you are cutting out an entire nutrient. You can be fat and be a vegetarian if you don't eat properly or eat in excess.

Types of vegetarian
lacto--you eat milk and cheese products
ova-you eat eggs
partial-eat fish, some people chicken (My sister is this with a combo of lacto and ova)
Vegan-no animal products at all they get protein from nuts, soy, etc.

Great questions, I will answer them all. :)

1. "Does being vegetarian make you lose weight?"
No. Just going vegetarian in and of itself won't make you lose weight. You still need to eat properly and exercise regularly. If you have a sound diet, it tends to be easier as a vegetarian to lose weight...but you still need to eat right and exercise.

2. "Do vegetarians eat fish?"
No. Vegetarians don't eat anything that causes an animal to die. Fish are animals, vegetarians don't eat animals. If you eat fish/shellfish as your only meat, then you're "pescetarian," not vegetarian. No matter what some people say, pescetarianism is not a form of vegetarianism but a type of omivorous diet.

3. "What do you eat for protein?"
Protein is made up of amino acids, and amino acids build all biological cells...including plant cells. Did I just imply plants have protein? Yes, yes I did. I made a blog post about it, complete with sources and examples: http://dailyveganeats.tumblr.com/post/25…

I think you should be able to eat whatever you want to eat and not have to label yourself anything!

Whether or not its good to be vegetarian is personal opinion, but studies have shown that it is not bad for humans to not eat meat, as long as we have a good balance of all the necessary nutrients.

Its probably better for the environment, better for the animals and better not to give billiondollar corporations more dollars just so they can continue on deforesting, slaughtering and all the other awful things they do to our planet and without a second thought.

People will argue that farming creates jobs and that we've been eating meat since day one, and that is true too, but we're also alot more educated nowadays and we have more available to us. And theres alot of jobs out there that are fading away with all the new technology, the internet, etc.

Some people prefer to eat meat, I know people who have tried being vegetarian but said they feel low on energy or tired or they can't feel full after eating unless they eat meat- it could be that they don't eat the right foods, but I also know people who prefer not to eat meat, I'm a vegetarian and the physical difference for me is that I have more energy and I never feel slow or sluggish after eating a meal like I remember feeling when I used to eat meat.

Even though the BMI system is thought to be not all that accurate in calculating body fat, in comparision, vegetarians do tend to have lower body mass index than meat eaters. A diet with no meat in it, will have fewer calories, provided you don't substitute your meaty meals with french fries and mac and cheese. It would be best to substitute your meat dishes with healthy food like fruit and vegetables, whole grains and legumes if you're trying to lose weight- regular excercise would also be beneficial. To lose weight you need to consume less calories than you burn.

There are so many other sources of protein like whole grains, seeds, nuts, legumes and if you combine any of those things together- like if you have bakedbeans on whole grain toast or rice with vegies and nuts you get a 'complete protein' which is a rich protein source- its also easier for your body to absorb. Soy products, eggs and milk are also a good source of protein. When I became vegetarian my doctor said 'as long as you have a glass of milk a day you should be fine', although I think that everyone has a different opinion on this. I still like to add additional protein sources into my diet to be sure and for the tasty variety.

And I don't know why you would force yourself to drink two glasses of water before you eat? Putting that much water in your stomach before you eat is going to dilute your stomach acids, which you need to digest your food. You may lose weight but most likely all those nutrients that your worried about are going to go nowwhere. And isn't that just another way of depriving yourself? 'I'm going to drink heaps of water so I wont feel hungry'

If you want to lose weight ... eat EVERYTHING but in Limited quantities.. u Musnt' deprive yourself from something Like Proteins or Carbohydrate Sugar Or Anything... Before u Eat Your Meal Drink Two Glasses of Water.... and Eat But don't eat more than u need and the most important u have to work out and practice and DO NOT EAT DINNER LATE !
I have tried and it worked GD LUCK :)

The Really Right Thing.

Some do eat fish some do not...... good vegetarians do it because of animals not weight ;) if you dont wanna eat fish eat tofu- just not raw its kinda gross raw.

i dont think so cos im a non-vegetarian...

u can have egg because some vegetarian people take it.but fish i dont think so.....
