they might not be related. take it as directed on the container. If it happens again stop taking it and maybe see a doctor because it could be something else causing the discomfort.

Stop taking them and eat food. See what happens after.
Protein in extreme amounts on a daily basis is very hard on your kidneys. Kidney stones can form. Protein is not calculated based on your weight in pounds, it is calculated on your weight in kilograms.
Most experts agree that getting your proteins from food, not whey proteins. They are a waste of money.. No matter what supplements they are, remember that there are no magic foods or supplements that can replace the right training and the right diet. The foundation of any program, whether your goal is to lose weight or gain muscle, is a combination of exercising and a healthy diet that includes carbs, with a balance of protein, and fat. Drink plenty of water throughout the day also.

You could perhaps also be allergic to the proteins in the whey...that would definitely give you intestinal problems. If that's true, it's also possible that you just didn't consume as much of it as you're doing now so didn't create a reaction before.

Check out this info on actually being allergic to the protein(s) in milk (which is different than being "intolerant" to the sugars in milk called lactose):

Why not just eat natural foods that contain all the nutrients we need instead of taking supplements.

Don't take as much, only as what's directed on the container
