What can vegetarians eat, and not eat?!

Question: What can vegetarians eat, and not eat?
Hi, ive been thinking about it for the last couple months about going vegetarian, and ive done the research, and everything on it. I decided i want to go vegetarian, because i hate the fact of how animals are treated in the butchering places, and its enviromentally more heathly. Its also very healthy for your body, so i dont want people to think im a 16 year old girl who wants to be "Yah Vegetarian, thats me!!" Bcause im not.
Anyway..

I have done the research on alot of things, and i know you cant eat meat (simple) but ive been reading diffrent things about things like dairy product. Some websites say you can eat things like eggs, cheese, icecream...etc. But then some say NO! Im just confused on that. Like i know that you can have milk, but it has to be things like soy milk..etc.

Also weat, can i have it? Like things for rigatoni, my family has always ate it. And i love it, and i saw there are diffrent ways to make it, i just want to know whats going to be vegetarian, and whats not.

I just want to make sure im doing the right proccess, and not cheating or anything by accident. I want some ideas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Maybe a snack if you could.? I just want to stay healthy and get my fiber, and vitamans

Thanks :)

Answers:

Vegan: No animal products.
Vegetarian: No animals. (mammals, fish, birds, lizards) But, by-products like milk and eggs are okay.
Pescatarian: Adds Fish to "Vegetarian" diet.
Pollotarian: Adds Chicken (and sometimes also Fish) to a "Vegetarian" diet.
Flexitarian: Relatively new term, describing someone who's Vegetarian on most days, but will eat Meat on special occasions, or merely occasionally. Example: Bob is a Vegetarian on most days, but has a meat craving once every month.

Obviously, the first two are the only "Vegetarian" categories among them. Pescatarians, Pollotarians, and Flexitarians are not Vegetarian... though their diets may be considered healthier than people who eat meat as most Americans eat meat. (too much, and too often)

Vegetarians do not eat anything which results from the death of an animal. That includes the obvious red meat, poultry and seafood, and the ingredients gelatin, lard and rennet.
Most vegetarians do consume both eggs and dairy products.

it depends! Some veg take dairy and some do not..Its good that you wanna be a vegetarian! I support you 100%. But if u think its hard, go very slow and try to find some vegetarians recipe to help u maintain ur energy..Im a pescetarian bcuz i have meat allergy and i love animals! It just made me feel guilty watching earthlings the other day. I pray the best for you :)

Bascicly dont eat meat ( any kind)
Some vegetarians dont eat eggs or geletine ( sweets) as they are supposed to be a Animal but that is optional
You can get many protiens in pulses and beans and also fibre in your normal food and cerals
Hope that helped :)

My Freinds are vegetarians
And books

Obviously meat, chicken, fish and seafood but also food products that contain gelatin and certain preservetives. Some cheeses contain rennet and some sweets contain gelatin, always look on the packet for a vegetarian sign.

vegetarians can eat anything. they choose not to buy meat and fish

There is no law and no penalty or rules. People are vegetarians not because it is a religion and they must do as the religion tells them to. They do and eat what they themselves think is right and wrong, and just happen to be called vegetarians.

YOU decide what you don't want to eat, because it contains or uses animal products in them, or for their manufacture.

Don't try and find rules in order to be a member of the vegetarian club.

Do what you believe YOU want to do.

It is hard for many people to just switch completely anyway, because they were brought up on foods their non-vegetarian parents fed them for many years and have acquired tastes for.

So you may eat a hot dog now and then, but all that should be important to you is that you are trying to avoid eating animals and any effort you do is better than not caring at all.

You are doing this for yourself, not for anyone else, especially any vegetarian clubs or organizations.

There are no RULES to being a person who attempts to do what they believing is the right thing.

a vegetarian CANNOT eat meat.
This includes fish, chicken, beef, pork, lamb, turkey, mutton, seafood (crab lobster), any kind of fish meal, or meat meal, meat mince.
NO MEAT, NO ANIMALS - fish and birds are animals with a face and brain.

All the rest- rigatoni( you're kidding?), cheese milk eggs etc you CAN EAT IF YOU ARE VEGETARIAN.

IF an animal DIED for the thing on the plate, a vegetarian will not eat it.

Of course if you care about animal treatment, and you say you do, then you will be aware that cheese, milk, eggs, yoghurt, butter, cream, ice cream and all the stuff DIARY comes from, is the same kind of torute cruelty to cows chickens, goats and sheep too.
So then you would want to become a VEGAN and not eat ANY ANIMALS OR ANIMAL BY PRODUCTS.

A vegetarian CAN EAT CHEESE AND MILK EGGS CREAM BUTTER etc

A vegan CANNOT EAT CHEESE AND MILK EGGS BUTTER HONEY etc

ps there's more protein and fibre in plant foods- soybeans, tofu, lentils, chickpeas, fava beans pinto beans peanuts peanut butter, almonds, walnuts etc etc - they all have MORE fibre and protein than meat or dairy, plus they all havve calcium and potassium and iron and zinc too.

Vegetarians can eat milk products and eggs, but vegans don't
Vegans believe that it is cruel to milk a cow and stuff.
Vegetarians have to be careful with some candy though, because of the gelatin in it coming from animals.
You can eat wheat and pasta except if you become vegan because pasta can contain egg.
You just need to read the packet.
The milk you drink doesn't have to be soy if you are a vegetarian but I think it is nicer than cows milk.
Make sure you do eat a lot of soy and iron rich food though, because a lot of vegetarians become ill or aneamic because they don't get enough iron and protien.

Hope this helps
