Are monoglycerides and diglycerides always animal products?!

Question: Are monoglycerides and diglycerides always animal products?
Because I have an app on my phone that lists nearly every non-vegan ingredient, and says if it is "always animal derived" or "sometimes animal derived." For both mono and diglycerides, it said "always-" but in Tofutti ice cream, and other 'vegan' products, I'm sure, its listed as an ingredient.
So, is it always/mostly an animal product?

It usually is. They can be plant-derived, like in vegan foods, but for most commercial foods they are animal-derived. I always watch out for them in breads and tortillas, unless they are certified vegan.

That sounds like a nice app.
