What are advantages and disadvantages of become a vegetarian?!
I'm planning on starting in March, and seeing if I can continue with it. I also care about animals, and I hate the look of them being hurt in documentaries and in programmes about what really goes into our food, which is another reason I want to try it out.
What are the good/bad points of becoming a vegetarian?

The advantage of becoming a vegetarian is:
You are no longer stuffing your body with meat and other harmful things, and at the same time being kinder to animals.
The disadvantage of being a vegetarian is : You are not a vegan yet.
Good luck my friend! It is very healthy for you....go for it.
There are pros and cons to following a vegetarian diet. Many of them have already been listed. When I started following a vegetarian diet, I noticed higher energy levels, greater feelings of compassion towards others (both animals and people), and spent less money on food.
See this article I wrote about why I decided to become vegetarian for some more advantages to becoming vegetarian.

Also, check out this article I wrote about how to stay motivated to become vegetarian, as this can sometimes be a challenge.

Pros: less expensive- meat is always the most expansive on the shopping list.
cleaner food- no or little salmonella, ecoli risk- don't need to refridgerate everything .
LEss cost cooking- don't need to cook veg and fruit like meat
Healthy- meat is fatty, greasy, has dubious cleanliness due to hormones and poisonous farming conditions. excrement in the meat patties and very unhealhty levels of saturated fat, and no fibre.
Body- vegetarian is more fibre, more vitamins, more fresh nutirents. LEss chance of colon cancer, heart disease and fat deposits. No cholesterol from meat.
LEss stress- it is less stressful eating vegetarian. I don't know why, but you tend to be less aggressive and sweaty.
Cons: can't think of one.
The only cons of a vegetarian diet are essentially
abuse off non-vegetarians (both teasing & jeering)
selected options at resturants
having to be careful of new products you buy not being vegetarian
potential of not understanding a vegetarian diet & leading to ill health (worst case scenario)
The advantages of it both morally/ethically & enviormentally are huge, i'm sure many will tell you. I'm blue in the face answering these questions, no offence :P
vegetarian
Advantages: Decrease in cholesterol, preventing heart disease, cancer, decreasing chances of becoming obese, stronger immunity, improving the environment, not contributing to torturing animals.
Disadvantages: You have to find other sources of protein other than meat, which may or may not be difficult. Your choices when you go to restaurants or family dinners are limited.
*edit* I agree with yogaman007's disadvange. :D

disadvantages: can be more expensive, more work making sure you have a balanced diet, and harder to eat out or eat at celebrations(ex. birthday parties)
advantages: helping save the environment from the pollutions of factory farming, preventing global warming, and subtracting around 95 animals a year from the billions that get tortured on factory farms in conditions worse than nazi concentration camps.
so id say the positives of being a vegetarian far outweigh the negatives
I am a vegetarian so I know ;) so....
Pro- You are healthier, You'll feel better about yourself and animals, (my personal opinion) you wont be giving money to those companies that kill animals, thousands a day, to feed people at effin mc donalds :P and I think I've been saving money because I've found some cheap vegetarian food :)
Cons- Some products could be pricey (but it all depends on what you like and buy), you might get sick of eating nonmeat things, and you can get a big urge to eat meat again. especially seeing other people eat it in front of you :)
So those are on my pros and cons list:)
Advantages - health diet consisting of vitamins/minerals, leads to a longer life (usually)
Disadvantages - harder to gain muscle, must get protein etc. from other sources, limited food variety.
advantage:
-healthy mind and body
-shopping is cheaper
disadvantage:
-not much choices when eating out
vegetarian
I tried it in my 30's, I had many health problems. Became a vegan too for four years. I did not improve at all, in- fact I ended up craving fish, then found out I had an underactive Thyroid.
No more bacon :(
