How do I make it out in Mexico for a week as a vegetarian?!

Question: How do I make it out in Mexico for a week as a vegetarian?
I've never traveled for that long as a vegetarian. Should I stock up and take food with me, or what do you guys usually do when traveling far?

Im the best person to answer this question because I have been through this. First if you know where you are going call the hotel youre staying at and ask them if there are any grocery stores near by (they have costco, walmart and other american stores there!) and then stock up on food and water buy fruits etc. Its expensive to buy things in the resort/hotel or tourist spots so insist on asking them if there are american or decent grocery store for a tourist staying there for a week. They will be very accomodating of your needs. Good luck!

If you are vegetarian you won′t have much problem
If you are crazy enough to be vegan then you are in quite a pickle
It all depends to what part of Mexico you are going be more specific
Big city you won’t have much of a problem. To a small town ten take precautions.

And if you are going to be here for a week go to the market so you could have your own food.
The big ones like wall mart, HEB, Soriana, chedrahui, etc. It easy to get disinfecting droplets for fresh vegetables. Or you might pick them frozen ready to eat, those are what we use at home.

thow i′m not a vegeterian i′m in mexico 24/7 and have vegeterian friends (mexican vegeterians)

There are loads of vegetable dishes anywhere in the world. Mexican food isn't just Meat.

It is up to you to order what you choose.such as;
Refried beans with a salad.

Nachos with a tomato sauce and cheese topping.

Rice and chilli-without the meat, off course.

Tortilla wraps with mixed vegetables cooked or a green salad, with sliced avocado, or guacamole.

Like the answerer said, take a few snacks,if you want, but i am sure that they do have them there as well.

Have a safe journey, and enjoy your time in Mexico.

I'd definitely take some snacks to hold you over between meals -- granola bars, dried fruit, etc. But regarding full meals, it'll probably depend on where you'll be during that week. I'd assume you can order restaurant dishes with cheese and/or beans instead of meat, just like in the States.

Happy Cow lists a few restaurants in Tijuana and a shop in Mexicali.
