Why do people vegan bash on this forum?!

Question: Why do people vegan bash on this forum?
Every time I click on a question, somebody is getting schooled about being an unhealthy hypocrit loser for being vegan. Not to mention the obvious troll questions with their implied vegan bashing. Isn't this the Vegetarian/Vegan forum? Do people really come here just to violate the guidelines by berating other people? Maybe I'm just naive about this site. Do people troll the Computer forum just to harass Mac users and then go over to the Family section to make fun of divorced people...maybe hop over to the Pregnancy forum to call people fat? I would expect this in the politics section, but not in response to recipes and health questions and how to handle awkward social situations.

Now watch, half of the responses will be vegan bashers.

Answers:

There are losers everywhere. You just have to take it on the chin and ignore them. Sometimes I get sucked in and will respond to the troll's questions, for the most part I try to avoid them and won't even read them. But if you look at the Religion and Spirituality category, you see heaps of atheists attacking theists and vice versa. Go to climate change and see heaps of denialists posting insulting stuff about how believing that climate change is man made makes you a communist. You even get the odd creationist in biology/zoology demanding explanations as to how life can come from nothing etc. These things considered, we are not receiving special treatment so don't worry too much about it.

Why do people vegan bash on this forum?

Because it's the internet.

Isn't this the Vegetarian/Vegan forum?

Yes, but it isn't exclusively FOR vegetarians/vegans.

Some do, yes.

Well this isn't your section. This section is for everyone (within community guidelines) to discuss said subject. Pro and con. It is Not a section for vegans to pat each other on the back and glorify their lifestyle choice. Just because someone has a different opinion than you doesn't make them wrong or make them a troll.

It would be awesome if everyone in this forum was sincere. Unfortunately, a lot of people equate veganism with a purely political agenda, rather than acknowledging it as a valid moral position. I'd imagine most of the trolls in here are far-right-wingers.

You are correct. I see this in other forums also. I suppose we must assume trolls and bashers are socially inept and get some feeling of superiority w. negativity. Ignoring them is the best policy, as they thrive on attention of any kind.
......................................…

Because people are rude, ignorant, and hateful.

That's the only reason everyone's not vegan anyways.

The same reason people omnivore bash in the food section...people have less tolerance and stronger opinions when talking to complete strangers on the internet.

"vegan bash" Hmm, sounds a little dramatic to me.

For the most part, I try to answer questions honestly and with references (often from veg*n sources). The fact that I'm saying things that too many veg*ns would like to ignore (like vegans should supplement for Vitamin B12) tends to irritate some people. Or that there's no proof being veg*n results in better heath. Or that to save 100 cows, you'd have been eating 4,000 lbs of beef a year, etc. If you're one of those people, perhaps you should get over it?

Yes, I do occasionally make a comment about my personal experiences with veg*ns. I believe that's allowed because you see so many veg*ns beating up "ignorant meat eaters."

As far as I know, this is not a veg*n support forum. It's a forum to discuss veg*nism. Discussions usually result in pro and con opinions being aired and sometimes new "facts" being brought out.
