Question: What's the best vegan bakery in/near New York City?

My birthday is in a few weeks and last year I had a homemade cake, but this year I wanted to try a vegan store-bought cake.

Sorry, but I was so excited about trying Babycakes when I went for my NY visit, and sorry to say they disappointed :( Try one of the other suggestions. If doughnut planet does indeed have vegan treats, that would be awesome. My sister and her friends went there and could not shut up about how good it was. I skipped out because I figured they wouldn't have anything vegan
