how do I get rid of zits (pimples) from my face with diet?!
Is there anything I can do with my diet to get rid of the zits (pimples) on my face? I am starting with a raw vegan diet, I hope it helps. If anyone has any natural remedies or treatments for preventing and curing zits , please let me know. Thank you!
Answers:
Put lemon juice and onion on your skin, rub the cut onion, it does smell but it's very good for naturally drying your skin. Then put lemon on it, and wash off with boiled water.
I would AVOID all those facewashes, I'm certains they're rip-offs. They just make it worse.
For oily skin, make a facepack with mud- get some "fullers earth" from a make up store, or gardening store, and mix with tiny bit of water, Leave it on then wash off with warm boiled water.
And steam your face too. Keep your face CLEAN, and this means washing with boiled or purifed water about three times a day, don't use soap, just cleanse with water, and soaked oats or soaked white rice to exfoliate.
Put white rice in a big bowl. Pour on boiled water to cover the rice by a few inches. Leave to cool. Rub the rice with your clean hands, don't drop the rice grains- keep them in the bowl.
Exfoliate your face with the rice- keeping the grains in the bowl.
Then rinse off with that white milky water.
You will NEVER go back- this has been used by Chinese and Indonesian women for centures, and they are reknown to have clear, smooth skin.
It's the best secret facial tip I could give anyone ,In fact I'd charge money for that tip.
It works, it works, it works. Your skin feels like porcelain afterwards.
To moisturise, use a tiny bit of aloe vera mixed with olive oil- go heavier on the aloe vera than the oil.
Aloe will clean and hydrate your skin, but it's not greasy, you just need a little of the olive oil to keep it supple.
Anyhow, for diet- eat vitamin C like you're going crazy.
Eat papaya, apples, ( the best fruit for skin is a pure apple diet) and coconut.
Eat oily fish and potatoes ( vit C) kiwi, strawberries and walnuts, almonds, brazil nuts.
Nuts, fruit, fish and potatos are very good for your skin.
Do the onion rub and lemon daily, on the spots to dry them.
Wash around your face and leave the pimples without moisturizer- it gets tricky to moisturize around them, but don't give them anything to get moisturized with, so they dry out. BE merciless on them.
Oh sorry, just read Raw Vegan - ditch the salmon of course, just use wheatgerm oil, sesame oil and walnuts, and brazil nuts.
Nuts are probably the best thing, then vitamin C, but BOTH need to be taken- vitamin C as much as possible, Drink fruit juice like it's going out of style.
Avoiding sugar helps my skin a lot. Vegetable oil makes me break out. I am around the same age as you are so maybe the same things will work for you. I like a face wash containing salicylic acid. I drink lots of water and eat flax seed. I wash my face right after I wash my hair to remove the conditioner. If you have body acne try using an antibacterial soap. For astringents I like witch hazel.
Get rid of milk and refined sugar in your diet.

2 things clearasol has a cream that dries them out quickly but also Vitamin E. It is very oily but if you pop a pill and use the oil on your pimples at night you will wake up with much clearer skin!
You need to eat healthy foods that are enriched with vitamins, fresh fruits and vegetables. Also drink plenty of water. You need to hydrate your body and skin.
use 2 or 3 lemon drops to clean your face.Do it every morning. It helps me to get rid of pimples.
Accutane.
It's a godsend.
drink tons of water and blueberrys, no junk foods or greasy foods or soda.
I'm in my mid-twenties and deal with problem skin, as well. Definitely water, fresh and/or frozen produce, whole grains, etc., as people posting above suggested. I also try to drink decaffeinated green tea every day for additional toxin removal and antioxidants. But what you do externally is just as important -- one thing that has really helped me to reduce the oiliness is avoiding substances like benzoyl peroxide, which dry out your skin and thus stimulate your sebaceous glands to produce more oil--which tends to lead to breakouts. If your oil-free wash has anything like this in it, it could be contributing to the issue. It really depends on your biochemical makeup, though -- diet is really important for maintaining healthy skin, but expect some trial-and-error to be involved.
Hope this helps a bit!
I changed to a vegan diet in high school over one summer. Back at school in Sept. everyone was commenting on my skin and how my acne had disappeared. It literally vanished in a matter of a week or so after changing my diet. I read that dairy is the main contributor to acne, but I cut out meat, dairy, junkfood, etc. all at once. Drinking lot of water, getting out in the sun, and exercising helps a lot too.
Forget about washing your face to get rid of them; acne comes from the inside. Previous to the diet change, I tried every face wash, every acne cream, etc. on the store shelves. Sometimes something seemed to work, but not for long. Take out the animal fats from your diet (that's where oily skin comes from) and replace them with good fats from nuts, seeds, flax oils, hemp oil, extra virgin olive oil, etc.
There is still one thing that still gives me acne, deep fried food -- if I eat that (it's usually fried in restaurants in cheap hydrogenated canola oil) acne comes. Not as bad as when I was eating a different diet though. That said, if I fry my own food at home, such as tempura or onion rings, using extra virgin olive oil, no acne. That oil they use in restaurants had defoaming agents and all kinds of crap in it.
Well, research has shown diet is not caused by acne. It does not matter what you eat because food does not cause acne. This is a proven medical fact. You can google this or speak to a skin doctor. Many people will list foods that cause acne and what not. The only thing that causes acne is raw fish and seafood. This is also a proven fact. Do not eat it! To clear up your acne you need to take prescription pills. Depending on how bad it is the doctor may prescribe you with Accutane which will stop all your acne from forming. You need to call a doctor (skin doctor) and get them to prescribe you with medication. Nothing over the counter actually works at getting rid of acne.
Eating healthy will definitely help the condition of your skin. I suggest fruits, drinking lots of water, avocado, nuts, beans. Become a vegetarian. That will improve your skin tremendously if your looking for a diet that will help your skin. I always thought that the hormones they inject into the animals are what cause people to have acne. Of course, this has never been proven but I stopped eating meat because you can never be to careful.
Hope that helps :) This is just what I do for my skin..
Follow my regime:
BP wash 2x daily
Tone 1x
Moisterize 1x
Retin A 1x
4 pills a day (Trimethoprime)
Every once in a while i get an occasional pimple or blackhead but it clears up.
Cutting back on sugary foods and eliminating dairy, for starters.
Change your pillowcase twice a week.
Wash your face at least twice a day, once right before you go to bed.
Do not use any cleansers with salicylic acid in them. It just dries out your skin and makes you produce more oil. Totally counterproductive!
Instead use a facial scrub (St. Ives' makes some good ones) in the morning, followed by pure witch hazel as a toner. At night, use a wash cloth and Aveeno oatmeal soap, and witch hazel afterwards.
EDIT: To that girl that said acne is not caused by diet, yet goes on to day that raw seafood causes acne--she is full of sh*t. I eat sushi twice a week, and my acne actually IMPROVES when I do. Meat (fish, especially) is ANTI-inflammatory, whereas grains, certain fruits and of course junk foods are INflammatory. When I drink sweet wines such as Riesling and cheap Chardonnay, I break out in MASSIVE zits the following day. Yet when I drink reds, I have no problems. Coincidence? No. Sugary foods & simple starches cause a spike in insulin, which in turn causes inflammation throughout the body. A side effect of this is acne.
