what can i do to liven up tofu?!

Question: What can i do to liven up tofu?
its so soft and spongy is there anything to stop it looking like scrambled eggs..its a bit off putting

Answers:

First, purchase Extra Firm tofu. Also, good tofu takes time to get ready.

Wrap it in a tea towel and put a weighted plate on top of it to press the excess liquid out.

If you're preparing it in advance, take the tofu and put it in the freezer overnight, and then repeat the plate step. This really gets all the liquid out of it.

Cut into cubes and marinate, preferably overnight. Vinegar-based sauces absorb best.

Saute, deep-fry, grill, broil, etc.

Yum.

What i'd do is cut it up in slices and fry it with some sesame seed oil, which has a very rich, fragrant taste. There are alot of nice oriental sauces you can liven it up with like hoisin sauce (or if you eat seafood, oyster sauce is lovely)

Tofu and soy products are BAD for you.

If you don't like it, why do you want to eat it?

Research the dangers of soy.

Pour tabasco all over it. THAT'LL liven it up.

Easy, throw it in the bin, and eat proper food,

deep fry it!
