True or False? Vegetarian is healthier than meat eater?!
Answers:
i don't have a reference for you because this is just knowledge ive gained from reading different material over the years.
but vegetarians that have a balanced diet have been proven to live longer that meat eaters
and for those that say you don't get enough protein this is not true.
dark greens, beans, nuts, and eggs are all packed with protein.
there are even vegan body builders.
how ever there are unhealthy vegetarians as well. these are the people who don't take necessary measure to get the nutrition they need. but meat eaters do this as well.
True because there is no nutrients that we require for good health that cannot be obtained from plant based food. A vegetarian diet is healthier because we are not filling our bodies with animal fats that raise the cholestrial levels and cause high blood pressure.Because we are not exposing ourselves to over 20,000 different drugs that are pumped into the live animal including antibiotics, sterols, growth hormones and other vetinary drugs we are avoiding the chances of recieving secondary consumption of antibiotics and weakening our immune system.
Unknown. Evidence is conflicting, as some studies suggest greater health and longevity for vegetarian or vegan diets, while others suggest no difference or greater health for meat inclusive diets.
The problem with comparing diets, as others have pointed out, is that studies examining them may not account for other lifestyle differences that may have as much impact on health and longevity. Smoking, activity level, exercise, work environment, living environment, alcohol use, drug use, and stress management are only a few lifestyle considerations that can impact health and confound or lead to incomplete or inaccurate study results.
Most studies comparing veg*s and non-veg*s are not tightly controlled, apparently depending upon the word of individual participants in the form of surveys or questionnaires. How can the monitors know with any precision what the participants are eating? If meat does have a negative health association, might it be dose dependent? Do veg*s ever cheat and consume meat? How often? How can monitors know for certain about the participant's lifestyle when adjusting for confounding variables?

Depends on the diet.
Is a well done vegetarian diet healthier than the typical standard American diet? Of course!
Is a healthy vegetarian diet healthier than a healthy diet that includes meat? That's up for debate.
One of the longest living cultures in the world are those that follow the Mediterranean diet which includes meat, poultry, fish, and dairy.
NEITHER.
If you eat bread instead of proteins like nuts and lentils, you might as well be eating meat.
If you're vegan, you need to find good ways to get your calcium.
And if you're a vegetarian that doesnt like vegetables, you're screwed.
Vegetarians who dont take the time and money to do it properly should take vitamins to make up for what they're lacking.
I was a vegetarian for 13 months.
yes as vegetarians tend to eat more vegetables and consume more vitamins and minerals they often consume less saturated fat and salt that leads to high cholesteral and blood levels.
vegetarian society uk
Neither.
Both diets require you eat properly. If done so, BOTH can be healthy. If not done, both can be extremely unhealthy. There is just a lot more crap that you can eat if you aren't vegetarian.
Vegetables are healthier than meat if thats what you mean... comparing diets is impossible because everybody eats so differently.
There are way more variables in a diet than just eating meat or not. Either can be healthy or unhealthy depending on what you choose to eat.
my head
A health food is only healthy in the context of a healthy diet so neither false or true, it's all about balance
Well, you could be a vegetarian and live of chips, ice cream, pizza, etc.. xD
I could live off of nothing but pizza and chips and be a vegetarian...
Depends what you eat.
If you wanna be a Healthy person, you should eat more vegetable and less meat
Ofcourse.
False. No diet is "magic". The vast majority of people in the US are meat eaters and live long, healthy lives. Only about 2% of the US population claims to be vegetarian. According to TIME magazine there are three times as many ex-vegetarians in this country as current vegetarians. Obviously it's not a good diet for the majority of people who try it or they wouldn't quit.
As for those who say they're not missing anything when they eat only plants, I say "where do you get your B12?"
VeganHealth, theveganRD, VRG, the Vegan Society ALL say vegans (and many vegetarians) should supplement their diet with B12 because it is NOT available in plant foods. Supplement with pills, shots or by eating fake, manufactured B12 that has been added to highly processed foods. But do supplement.
From VeganHealth:
"...Contrary to rumors, there are no reliable, unfortified plant sources of vitamin B12, including tempeh, seaweeds, and organic produce. The overwhelming consensus in the mainstream nutrition community, as well as among vegan health professionals, is that plant foods do not provide vitamin B12, and fortified foods or supplements are necessary for the optimal health of vegans, and even vegetarians in many cases...
false because there is a lack of proetine for vegitarians plus when some people go without meet they can get head achs
