Vegetarian..............?!

Question: Vegetarian..............?
Okay, well i want to go Vege, I do not drink Milk, i hate it i think it tastes disgusting. and pretty much i kinda of rarely eat meat i am really picky about meat, i probably only eat meat once a week. i could say i find most meat to look disgusting espeacialy hamburger pattys and chicken nuggets and steak, it just sickens me at the sight. So, i want to Totally stop eating meat. i just dont know what i should tell my parents there really like u have to eattt they force me to Eat they say im too skinny but im not im 5'2 and weigh 107lb,my parents are weird they believe you should eat until ur full, for me its eat until ur not hungry. so i dont know how to tell them. when i told them that i hated milk that it tasted disgusting and that i didnt want to drink it which i never actually did they forced me to drink the milk, and refused to let me go to sleep w/ out drinking the glass, i kinda of fought back and when they werent watching i would pour it down the drain and say i had finished when ever they found out i would tell them that if i wasnt guna drink it and that it was a waste of milk cause i could sit on the kitchen all day until the milk went bad. and im kinda afraid this is guna happen again w/ the meat cause they kinda force me to eat it too, but some meat eat cause well it doesnt tatste that bad. thats wat i mean by once a week. so How can i tell them? And what are some positive things about becoming a vegetarian that i could throw at them? Thanks :)

Answers:

they cannot force you to drink milk unless they have a chain and rope and put a gun to your head, and that is illegal.

Let them watch you drink soy milk. Or almond milk.
Throw at them:
more protein in almond and soymilk.
more protein, calcium and iron in tofu, legumes, nuts and seeds than meat.
More protein, iron, calcium and fibre in peanuts almonds, walnuts, soybeans, tofu ,seitan, mushroom, brown rice, chickpeas, fava beans, pinto beans, split peas, lentils, black beans, black eye peas, barley, wholewheat berries, orange lentils, sweet potatoes, yams, pumpkins, flax seeds, sesame seeds yoghurt, cheese, avocados, bananas, coconut, peanut butter, almond butter, wholegrain bread, wholegrain cereal than meat .

Tell them you rprefer the clean taste and feel of plant foods, and that vegetarians are healthier and stringer and better fed nutritionally than meat eaters because they eat a wider variety of fresh foods.
They eat legumes, and nuts all the time- these have omega oils and fibre and iron and protein unlike meat which has protein , NO fibre and a lot of saturated fat.
Legumes, nuts and seeds and mushrooms all have vitamin E, C and A and B in them too- unlike meat which has not vitaminC or E.

I am a vegetarian and I am only able to because my mom is doing it with me. It sounds like your parents kinda want you to eat meat so you need to go to the links below and research and get alot of info to throw back at them. So here you go. I hope it helps you :)

Weak muscles.

i agree with your choice to go veg but u sound like a little ****. from the way u talk it sounds like ur parents might be worried u are developing an eating disorder. if you are serious about going veg u need to make sure u still get your protein and iron or u will get sick. beans, chick peas, soy and lentils are good sources of protein and are very versatile to cook with. you can get iron from eggs or from green vegies like broccoli. do some research and instead of going in for a fight with your parents, show them u are serious and know what you are talking about. otherwise they will prob just think u are trying to be difficult for the sake of it.

Well no one should force you to eat or drink anything that you don't like. Being a vegetarian can actually be quite hard. It is vital to ensure that when giving up meat and milk you will be able to make up those nutrients and minerals in other foods. Do a lot of research first and explain it to them. They just have your best interests at heart. But as your parents are not vegetarian, you have to take responsibility of your diet and to make sure that you get what you need, particularly as you sound young. Good luck with it.
