my friiends cat was vegetarian and lived healthy till 17years and looked good even when old.
l would try tasty whole foods like brown rice, and tofu lightly fried in olive oil and some vegies in it.Even spice it with a little curry. They usually love this.
It's a toss up between your dog and all the dead animals you would have to feed it for a little love in return. You take on this karma, so make it as short as possible.
You are now a rose bush with thorns on it, as before, you were just a bramble bush .

Watch out, the vegans are coming.....lol

A dog's nutritional needs are not the same as ours, and a cat's is not the same as a dog's. I would ask a veterinarian first to make sure you aren't depriving your pets of nutrition they need.

A friend of mine put her schnauzer on a diet of canned green beans for dinner (with the vet's recommendation) because she was so overweight. The dog LOVES them. But I wouldn't risk putting my 4-legged friend on a veggie diet unless my vet approved. You can seriously injure or kill them by feeding them stuff that's bad for them or that doesn't have the vitamins and minerals they need.

Cats are carnivores and dogs are omnivores, both can thrive on a vegetarian diet with the assistance of vitamin suppliments in the food, I've known people who had their two dogs on a vegetarian diet and the dogs looked amazing, their fur was incredibly silky, they had a ton of energy, and even their breath wasn't as bad as it used to be. The first one lived to be 10, the second lived to be 14!

Dogs and cats are not designed to be vegetarian and even less to be vegan. Imposing a vegetarian diet on them is cruel and not in their best interests. I am a long term vegetarian but still feed my dogs and cats meat - the dogs get vegies too as they're omnivores. I hate handling meat, but do it for their wellbeing.

Vegetables are great for dogs but make no mistake, you would be depriving your dog to cut meat out of it's diet. You can always add supplements to the vegetarian diet but dogs are omnivorous. Nature did not intend for them to be vegetarian.
