Can I still be lacto ovo vegetarian, and eat sugar?!

Question: Can I still be lacto ovo vegetarian, and eat sugar?
I try to avoid cruel products for animals, but this one isn't easy for me I still live at home, and my mom buys products with sugar in them. I posted this before, and someone just called me a troll which didn't help me. I'm not a vegan. I do want to get beet sugar though or organic sugar.

Sometimes you have to compromise on small things like sugar to avoid killing yourself trying to explain why your non-veg mom should examine everything she buys to see if it has sugar in it (and usually it will, so she basically wouldn't be able to buy you anything processed). I wouldn't worry too much about it while you're still living at home. When you're doing your own shopping, you can avoid sugar.

My understanding is that bone char is a byproduct imported from overseas (where they basically don't have factory farms), if it makes you feel any better about it.

Vegan in a household where the person who does the shopping HATES shopping and does not want to do anything that makes it drag on any longer.

Most sugar is made from grinding up boiled animal bones and mixing it with honey or corn syrup or something to make it sweat. Do not eat it.

Sugar does not come from animals.
