some surprising non vegetarian foods?!

Question: Some surprising non vegetarian foods?
i've been a vegetarian for almost two years now and i never thought people could be so sneaky with labels. like, goldfish, for instance. not safe. what the heck.

can someone give me some specific food that are not vegetarian safe?
ex: poptarts, marshmallows, gummy bears?

Answers:

It depends on the vegetarian or the vegan. There are vegans who don't eat honey, and some who do. Some vegans eat wheat, some don't.

If you are a vegetarian and you want to eat goldfish, eat goldfish. Don't let other people affect what you eat.

In terms of being vegetarian-safe or vegan-safe, don't eat at restaurants. Very few restaurants actually do let you know when something is vegetarian safe, or vegan safe, but most of the time you are eating something with egg, dairy, or some kind of chicken/beef stock whether you realize it or not. This is especially true of very busy restaurants, as the kitchen staff have to move quickly and they don't always pay attention to detail beyond "take the chicken out of the caesar salad" during a busy lunch or dinner hour. Restaurant cooking and home cooking are not the same.

Some foods containing gelatin are not vegetarian. Gelatin is made of bones, tendons, and skin of animals so of course it's not vegetarian. Some foods with gelatin in them are: Jello, marshmallows, certain desserts, and many gummy candies. Certain cheeses are also not vegetarian friendly because some contain 'Rennet', which is the inner lining of newborn baby calves' stomachs. But not all cheese, etc. includes this just be careful. I hope this helps!(~:

You just have to properly prepare your goldfish, perhaps vegetable oil for frying. Steak or Bacon may not be safe. Cute little bunnies eat carrots and you would harm them by eating their food. Depends on how much you care. Lol
