Healthiest way to eat tofu?!

Question: Healthiest way to eat tofu?
so i want to cook it on the stove, do i need oil? can't i just use pan so it doesn't stick?
fried tofu doesn't sound healthy, is there a better way to do it? also i want to marinate it in soy soy, will this be ok? or do i need to use oil? im cooking it all by itself & later putting it in my brown rice, help!

I'm not the biggest tofu eater, but I like to add it to my homemade brown rice and veggie mix, my stir fry and so forth. I use a non-stick pan; and I check my non-stick before cooking - if it looks flaky, toss it!

When I cook tofu for brown rice or stir fry, I like to toss my diced tofu with some seasme oil and some dark soy sauce. Over medium heat in the pan, once the liquids evap, I add a tiny bit of oil to prevent sticking, use Olive oil or even cocunut oil! You can make your tofu into slices or cubes, but that's just a personal choice.

Lastly, I only buy Firm or Extra firm. I have a great asian market where they have literraly 50 kinds of tofu. I've only tried about 5 of them so far!

Have fun and congrats on adding some tofu into your life!

i've pan fried tofu pretty successfully. i use stainless steel pans, the key is to preheat the pan before you add the oil. it does take a bit of oil, but if you use olive oil or organic canola it's not that big of a deal. so long as you don't eat fried foods all the time! i put it on a paper towel as i pull them out. also, i press before i fry them to get out some of the water, and i marinade them in whatever spices i'm using. i've never done it on a nonstick pan (they're bad juju), so i can't help you there.

marinate in soysauce is fine.
The healhiest way is straight from the pack when it's still fresh- but you have to get fresh tofu not that nasty packeet stuff bathed in water . THat stuff tastes horrible.

Just bake it or put it in soup, or eat it plain from the pack. I buy baked tofu, and fresh. I never buy the stuff in the packets cos it tastes to flippin awful
