cooking with stoneware in omni + vegan household?!

Question: Cooking with stoneware in omni + vegan household?
everywhere says stoneware is non porous, but i'm a little leery of that. my husband and son are omnivores and he wants a covered stoneware dish for roasting chicken/turkey... i'm thinking that it would be for his cooking only, but it would be nice to be able to use the $85 purchase for me too!

Answers:

Yeah its fine, stoneware doesn't tend to absorb flavours so your vegies won't end up meat flavoured. As for whether or not you'll get a molecule or two of animal fat in your food that is unlikely.

Why are you vegan? If you refuse to eat meat because buying it supports the animal slaughter industry, then cooking in the same dish is not supporting them. You're not buying more meat. IMO, you're just being a picky, high maintenance vegan.

That stoneware says non porous. Do you think they're lying? Don't you think they could be subject to thousands$$$ if they mislabel a product?
