who was the very first Vegan.?!

Question: Who was the very first Vegan.?
did he/she ever write a book on the ways of a vegan and how did it become a fashion status?

Answers:

Siddhartha would possibly have been the first vegan, eating only one grain of rice per day for a time until he was convinced to stop starving himself to death. I do not believe he remained vegan for the rest of his life. However there could easily have been others who were not recorded in history who abstained from animal products for a period in their lives.

Donald Watson was a founding member of the Vegan Society of the UK and the person who is credited with inventing the term. He never wrote any books, but did many interviews during his 60 or so years as a vegan (he died aged 95).

Its impossible to determine who the first vegan was. I don't condone the bible, but if you're religious it would be notable that Adam and Eve were the "first vegans".

Historically however, veganism has been around prior to 600bce. One of the most notable early vegans is Pythagoras: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pythagoras
Other notable early vegans include Plato and Socrates.

As for veganism being a "fashion status", it never has an never will be. Unless you can identify all vegans immediately simply by what they wear, this statement is invalid. 15 year old girls wearing PETA shirts only represent a very miniscule portion of vegans.

Very early man lived healthily on vegan food as nature intended, it was not until they witnessed wild animals hunt and kill for food that they started to copy them and thats when they discovered that they liked the taste of flesh.
