In need of some encouragement as a new vegetarian!?!

Question: In need of some encouragement as a new vegetarian!?
Ive been vegetarian for almost 3 weeks now. (I guess you could call it pescatarian since i occasionally eat seafood about once a week, if not less). Its a bit hard adjust though, since my mom still eats meat. Any tips on how to survive the first few weeks/months of being a vegetarian? Also, when I get hungry, I get super tired and its like I HAVE to eat NOW (Ive always been this way even when i did eat meat) It's only when I get this hungry that I crave meat. What are some yummy foods that are vegetarian but still a good source of protein? Are there any protein snacks/shakes that would help me stay full for longer? I would really appreciate any tips!

Good job on making 3 weeks :) i've been vegetarian for a little over a month now (the first time I tried to be vegetarian i didn't even last 6 days lol). Anyway, whenever I feel like I want to eat meat, I just picture the most disgusting version of a hamburger I can think of, then I don't feel like I need meat anymore. I'm hoping there will be a point where you just don't even feel the craving for meat anymore (because that's what happened when I stopped drinking soda, which I was addicted to).

Also, another tip is to find someone you look up to (a singer, actor, etc.) who is vegetarian, and think about them and how they've been strong with vegetarianism. It helps me a lot when I think about my idol who is vegetarian.

I hope I helped you! Good luck!

Ive been vegan for exactly three weeks too! good job! I kow that for the first week i was super tired and irritable becuase of low blood sugar, but then things got better. for protein, i would suggest refirend beans or tofu. heres a great recipe

for this recipe only use 1/3 the spinich. I also added carrots and zuchini, i was super good!

You should be a vegetarian because you feel it from your heart, if you're craving meat and eating seafood, it isn't meant for you as of yet

meat eater

vegetarian protein: protein bars and shakes. *they come in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry** :3

There are meat and fish substitutes available nowadays if you like meat so much.
I've been a vegan for 6 months now. I live in Spain (one of the most veg-unfriendly places in the world) but still find it pretty easy. My mom eats meat too (a lot) but there are so many reasons to become a vegetarian or a vegan that this would seem like nothing. Check out http://www.peta.org/ to give you reasons and strength. If you search "vegetarian recipes" you'll find a huge variety of meals. I encourage you to keep a vegetarian or a vegan diet, it would only benefit you and it'll make your life much better! :)
