If I eat to much of fruit will I get diabetes from the sugar in it?!

OK, what your doctor more than likely means is that when your blood sugar goes high, then it drops (this is when you feel badly) it is bad for you because the highs and lows affect your kidneys. Diabetes often leads to kidney disease and kidney failure. This I know because my father, a diabetic, was told his kidney failure was definitely caused by his years of eating whatever he wanted and allowing his blood sugar to go way up and then way down, rather than keeping it relatively even keel.
That being said, your doctor wants you to eat a balanced diet, including fruit, but nothing in massive amounts. Yes, the sugars in fruit are natural and cannot cause diabetes (no food can) but if your doctor has expressed a concern you might want to find out if a) you are pre-diabetic, and b) if there is a family history of diabetes, which would make it more likely for you to develop the disease.
This site, http://ndep.nih.gov/am-i-at-risk/index.a… will give you information to determine if you are susceptible to developing diabetes, and tips to prevent getting it.
No, it's true that fruits is full of sugar, but it's natural sugar which is better than processed sugar. You should try to eat fruits that are full of fiber and lower on sugar though, for example: green apples, cherries, green pears, strawberries, etc. Fruit is good for you but make sure you're eating your veggies too, as they're even better for you! If you're looking for other snacks, try almonds and pistachios!
My dad is diabetic.
No, natural sugars are good for you like fruits. Don't eat refined sugars like pastries, candy, cakes, and etc. I remember I saw a homeless person walking around in my neighborhood once and I offered him an apple because I felt bad but he didn't accept it because he said that he was diabetic.. He obviously wasn't educated about diabetes. haha
first: are u talking about type 1 or 2?? type 2 is only if u get really really fat, and u can undo type 2 if you lose weight
u cant really prevent type 1, or undo it. my brother has type 1, so i know a lot about it. but he is an EXTREMELY picky eater, and puts salt on practically everything, and my dad says that insulin has something to do with salt, so that could have been a cause.
also, fruit sugar is actually healthy. its the artificial sugars u have to watch out for
hope this helpedd :)
No. If anything, that is a diet of which more people should be partaking. You need to stay away from that refined food you love so much. Also, stay away from that crap with all of that high fructose corn syrup; our bodies aren't made to deal with that on the level that most of us in the Western world consume it. But diabetes from fruit... nah.
Hi,
I don't think you have anything to worry about! You eat very natural fruits and veggies.
Just watch the "unnatural" sugars. Massive amounts are not good, especially for your teeth.. :D
Enjoy and Best2u,
:))
Don't worry you can eat as much you want .. even people who has diabetes can have natural fruit everyday ..

no because its all natural sugar in fruit.
That's not how diabetes works
No.
no.
Diabetes isn't caused by sugar intake but over-eating in general. When the body uses what it can from the food you eat and there's food leftover, it is converted into glycogen by the liver. This is a type of sugar that your body will store in muscle cells and fat cells for later energy use. This is also the type of sugar people refer to as "blood sugar." Glycogen is taken to your cells with insulin (that comes from your pancreas). Like a friend who calls too much, your cells don't really like to answer all the insulin signals if they get too frequent, which happens when you get a lot of glycogen in your system. Because glycogen is the "leftover" from your food (the part of the food your body can't use at that moment, but doesn't convert into fat), you can see that over-eating is the cause of having too much glycogen in the system. When your cells stop responding to insulin, your pancreas sends out even more insulin to get the glycogen into the cells. At this point, you're "insulin resistant." When your cells completely stop taking in the glycogen, this is Type II Diabetes.
The "cure" for Type II Diabetes is to eat less and exercise. Less food means fewer "leftovers" for your body to turn into glycogen, and when you workout you give your food a job...your protein repairs cells, your sugars replace your glycogen stores (the normal glycogen stores, not the surplus created with overeating). That's why doctors tell you to eat less and exercise more if you have Type II Diabetes, and many people have been able to cure their diabetes completely just doing this.
In other words, eating fruit in and of itself won't cause you to have diabetes. Overeating in general and not exercising does.
