How much carbs do Vegans, vegetarians and those on the plant based diet consume?!
Asians eat HEAPS of rice and noodles
Mediterranean cuisine eat a lot of bread and pasta.
So I think that a plant based diet or vegans/vegetatians eat alot of carbs with vegies, fruit, legumes etc
Of course I mean unrefined! not white bread haha
Answers:
They need as many grains as those who are not vegetarian/vegan.
They just need to choose grains that are higher in protein and iron, that's all. Omnivores should substitute one meal for a high protein, non-meat meal, too. It would be a practice for a more balanced diet.
***There is no "the" plant-based diet.***
One could eat potatoes and pasta all day,
or, alternatively,
only raw, organic fruits and vegetables.
Naming two cultures which are largely vegetarian
and also happen to eat lots of carbs
has little to do with an inherent carb intake of a vegetarian diet.
I don't keep up with numbers , but I been juicing lately carrots with celery and garlic . I didn't drink it today though. I had popcorn, 2 small baked potatoes with margarine and sourcream, 1 banana , rice milk , a blueberry yogurt . That's it
Every person is different and i eat a variety of foods so that i can get as close to the amount of calories from carbs, fats, and proteins as possible, i'm supposed to eat a max of 150 grams of carbs a day.
I eat 80% carbs, 10% protein, 3% fat as a raw vegan.
I think regular vegans and vegetariants have a moderate amount.
