why do some people have issues with vegetarians?!

Question: Why do some people have issues with vegetarians?
I am vegetarian and I have experienced/heard about a lot of oposition against us vegies. why is this? its not like i try to impose it on anyone cos i think people should have free choice. Also, isnt it my choice what I eat? any meat-eaters have an explanation?

Answers:

The problem is that some people have too much time on their hands and just hate everyone who isn't a carbon copy of themselves.

Don't get angry, you can walk away from these people, they are stuck with themselves for the rest of their lives.

It is your choice what you eat but that goes both ways. The first answer says "They want you to be like them" but when was the last time you saw random rants about how wrong vegetarianism was? Now when was the last time you saw an uncalled for rant on how disgusting and wrong it is to eat meat? Ding ding, cue answer.

99% of "meat eaters" don't care what others eat, but that does /not/ go both ways because 99% of vegetarians constantly scream that they're horrible fat animal-killers who's gonna die because they're soooo unhealthy and wrong. If you haven't seen that then you're blind, ever other question in this section is slamming "omnivores" just look at the question asked right before yours!

I don't care what you eat so I expect others to do the same. I don't get that kind of respect though, we get picketers calling us cow-killers and telling us to go to hell when we're just trying to eat a sandwich. THOSE are the people I have issues with and they are more than asking for it since they go out of their way to piss others off.

veggies are evil...they use force just get their message across whilst its not Natural NOT to eat meat.
it's your choice if you got no desire to eat meat but don't crucify others that do

People have problems with that? I never knew

well maybe it's cuz.... Um.. They want you to be like them

but hey! Who cares it's your choice!
