What is kosher gelatin ?!

Question: What is kosher gelatin ?
it's in yoplait yogurt

Answers:

Kosher gelatin means that it is gelatin that is in accordance with Jewish dietary laws. This means that the gelatin can't come from an animal that is considered "unclean," such as the pig. It is usually derived from fish or beef. Yoplait says that the gelatin in their products is beef derived.

It is the same old animal cruelty from a different animal. Kosher does not make it vegetarian. If it were vegetarian you would see agar-agar or caregeean and not gelatin. Yogurt, unless it is vegan, comes from cows that have literally been raped and abused almost their entire lives hooked up to milking machines while their babies and taken from them and either sent to the veal farms or sent to be used as more dairy calves. Not something you want to support.

its NOT vegetarian, and its made from boiled skin. Ive seen it being made.

unknown chef, you are an idiot.**

"Gelatin is derived from collagen, a substance found in the skins and bones of animals such as pigs and cows. There is no vegetarian source for collagen, and while one might see “vegetable gelatin” listed on a product label, it would typically be, in actuality, agar agar, a seaweed derivative. In some products, it can be a fair substitute for gelatin."

It is gelatin made from kosher sources. It could be vegetable based or more likely from a kosher animal.

Gelatin comes from the cartiledge and bones. When a cook uses them to make soup it's the gelatin that gives it body.

They use mostly a seaweed based one and almost all food products use Carrageenan a seaweed base gel and it is Kosher along with being vegetarian

Gelatin is an animal product and in this case the animal was killed according to dietary laws.
