Do strict Jains soak pulses? How do they prepare them?!

Question: Do strict Jains soak pulses? How do they prepare them?
Strict Jains do not eat sprouts, but can they still soak lentils and beans for just a few hours? Will soaking lentils for 8 hours cause germination to begin (making them non-Jain), or will it just release the enzyme inihibitor? Thank you!

Answers:

The other fellow is right soaking only rehydrates them and allow them to cook faster. To germinate you must keep them moist and allow them to have sunlight, I have made bean sprouts at home and it take a few days, Jain do wash lentils, beans, channa and other legumes to remove the dirt and stones as those are earth products, also when cooking no onions or garlic these to are not allowed.

soaking lentils and beans will not make them sprout, and I cannot believe it makes them germinate.
