?YES? I agree with you!!!
I love being a vegetarian. I am a perfect weight and I'm happier not eating meat because i adore animals and I don't want to eat things that feel pain. I wouldn't eat my dog, so why would i eat a pig? Pigs are smarter than dogs, They also would make great pets. I decided to become a veggie about 1 or 2 years ago after watching a painfully horrific animal cruelty video in RE at my school. I soon became a vegan and then after a few months decided it was too hard. Its a cheaper life to be a veggie and I wouldn't feel right eating something i knew was once brutally murdered.
I am not anemic
veggie :)
I've been a vegetarian for quite a while, about six years. I haven't eaten pork in a decade and a half.
Half of the time, I do not eat cheese/eggs/milk, but due to the cost of living, I have to eat them sometimes for protein.
I have no medical problems.
I don't eat meat because I think it's gross. It tastes nasty and people lust after it like they do sex. It's an oral fixation with dead animals, and it is really disturbing. People crave meat like they do drugs or sex because of the hormones in the animals, or for whatever reason people have blood lust.
I am a vegetarian because I don't see why animals should be eaten when actually we can survive perfectly well without them. In fact it can actually be healthier.
Animals are not there just to be eaten, they have a right to their own life.
And not everybody becomes anaemic. Some people don't eat healthily and are also vegetarian, they are not necessarily linked.
i am a vegetarian
It's a personal choice: i have nothing against you or anyone else because you all happen eat meat, and people shouldn't have anything against me because i don't.
I became a vegatrarian because i saw a cow transport truck: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http…
and was too discussed to eat meat ever again. the suffering in the cows eyes was enough to break your heart.
before then i was a carnivore.
also some people's blood types enable them to eat meat less or not at all.
Anemia is an iron deficiency. There are plenty of non-meat sources of iron. It's a fallacy that being vegetarian is 'unhealthy' - I've been veggie for almost 20 years and I reckon I'm doing ok.
As someone else has also said, I'm veggie because I find meat nasty. I don't miss it - I was never a big meat eater even before I became vegetarian "officially." I've never had a lot of meat products at all.
But, each to their own. You want to eat meat, go for it.
Hi.I'm vegan, and actually, it isn't harming your body as long as you have a balanced diet. There is nothing found in meat which cannot be obtained from other sources. You mention anemia, but iron can be found in sources such as dried fruit, green leafy veg, fortified soya milk, almonds and beans, so it's very possible to be completely healthy without meat.
If you love meat then I can understand why you would question this lifestyle, but I never really liked meat even before I went vegan, so I really don't feel like I'm missing out. I can honestly say I have never craved meat or even seen it as appetizing.
It's hard to say what my reasons are; there are so many! It's better for the environment, doesn't contribute to world huger, plus feels generally healthier for my body.
I'd never tell anyone else that they should stop eating meat, it's a personal choice and I have no issue with others eating it, but this decision was definitely very right for me. Going vegan was one of the best things I've ever done.

'I serioulsy don't get how people can just become vegatarians like that. How can you not eat meat?'
I'm a vegetarian because I love all animals just as how many people love dogs or cats. Also for health reasons.
'How can you not eat meat??? I love steaks and hot dogs etc you guys are missing out on a lot.'
Naw. I'm not missing out lol. I never really liked meat before I was a vegetarian. I'm a slow eater and I hated how long it took to chew. Also I never liked hot dogs too because how gross they are. Seriously. Watch how they make them on youtube. Gross. Same with chicken nuggets. yuck.
Eat whatever you want but don't start preaching to us. Most of us have done our reasearch and know what we are doing. Most of us weren't born vegetarians and have tasted meat in childhood and later.
Most of us know full well what we are 'missing' and don't want it.
You do your thing and I do mine.
I won't start an argument with you.
i am a vegetarian because different organisations kill animals INHUMANELY.
- how would you like it if someone hung you and chopped your head off? or stuck you in a room filled with TERRIBLE smelling ammonia in a cage the size of a sheet of paper and you are so fat from them feeding you STEROIDS that you literally cannot move and then kill you? how would you like it if somebody took you away from you children to slaughter you? how would you feel if someone ate your dog or cat?
- FACT: pigs are just as (if not smarter) smart as dogs!!
- i am not missing out an ANYTHING. eating meat is terrible and my body is not a graveyard! that's why.
-FACT: there are other ways to get protein other than eating meat.
-in the beginning, people were NOT supposed to eat meat.. but because of two stupid people eating the forbidden fruit from the tree that is when this CHAOS happened.. eating LIVING, BREATHING animals! this was PUNISHMENT!
-eating meat is more harmful to your body than being veg.. do you KNOW what is IN meat? research it! steroids..ammonia.. all kinds of gross stuff..so why harm YOUR body??
thanks.
EDIT: i challenge you to go to Peta2.com and watch some of the videos.
hi there candy cindy babe ;-)
im vege cos i dont agree with how we treat animals
i dont feel i miss out on much to be honest, the only thing i miss is chicken and well, its not like i sit crying over it in bed at night, its just what it is, you get on with life
yes our body needs whats inmeat, but we can get it other places, otherwise wed all be dead now wouldnt we ;-D
I just thought eating meat was gross. Especially knowing how it was made and prepared made me cringe. I was also tired of hearing about all the meat recalls and people getting salmonella from eating that meat, so I just decided to become vegetarian.
Well think of it like this, why do you eat meat?
I am a vegetarian because animal cruelty is wrong.and a vegetarian diet is also healthy.
P.S. Vegetarian does not have an a at the beginning.
HAH! vegetarians are healthier than you meat eaters. and we are no missing out as why would anyone want to eat a dead lamb or cow or hotdogs, which contain cot-offs from chickens, pigs and various other animals?
I am not a vegetarian however I don't believe not eating meat will harm one's body, I think it's the reverse.
I serioulsy don't get how people can just become vegatarians like that. How can you not eat meat???
--It's the same as some people not liking pickles or pizza or something. Meat just has no appeal for me. It's not something I have to resist eating; I just don't want it.
I love steaks and hot dogs etc you guys are missing out on a lot.
--I'll admit, there are a lot of foods I'll never try, but at the same time I have tried a lot of food I never would have if I had remained an omnivore. I look for healthy foods and exotic foods. Have you ever tried quinoa? Amranth? Tempeh? Kombucha? Black bean pasta? Pizza without cheese? I may be missing out on some things, but I still try something new every chance I get.
I know some of you are veggies cos of the animals getting killed but come on they are meant to be killed to eat!!!
--I don't believe it is the purpose of any living being to die. We're all here to live our lives and continue whichever species we may be a part of. That involves killing and eating other creatures--plants or animals. I have no problem with people eating meat, so long as they respect the animals, but I choose not to. I can get by eating only plant life, so that's what I do.
And besides with need to some meat in our body and veggies end up becoming anemic. So why harm your body???
--On the contrary, I'm a very healthy person. I eat a well balanced diet and my iron levels are perfect, thank you very much. It is not a vegetarian diet that harms the body, but an unbalanced one. Even many omnivores don't know how to eat properly and become malnourished, though the effects are generally different from vegetarian malnutrition. (I'd just like to point out that malnourished literally means wrongly nourished. It can mean under or over nourished, and yes, over nourishment can be a serious problem.)
Anyway. I hope I was able to clear that up for you. Happy Thanksgiving! :)
