?CALL<> the Restaurant and Inquire about what type of Chicken they use at their establishment?
By wanting to eat in a chain you are probably eliminating the option of eating free range chicken. Chains need to standardise as much as possible across all locations and be able buy in quantities large enough, central enough and with a consistent enough supply to maintain this. The very nature of free range meat production (or poultry production in this instance) pretty much means this can't be done. Demographics determine that it certainly couldn't be done at a price to suit the chain business model.
Will you be able to eat out here in Great Britain with free range chicken? Yes, undoubtedly and in many many restaurants all over from simple local eateries to big flash restaurants.
Will you be able to eat out here in Great Britain in a chain restaurant with proper, certified free range chicken? Highly unlikely here or anywhere else for that matter.
No matter where you are there will be independent local eateries of whatever description. Give them a go and you may well be pleasantly surprised. if nothing else, the food quality should be a lot better.
Life and a bit of common sense.
Thing is restaurant chains are all about profit and greed is the top of the list. Which means they will get food as cheap as possible to keep costs down and profit up. We live in a greedy world and a nation that want a lot for very little!!
All you can do is ask and maybe choice family run or small restaurants, if all fails try avoid chicken dinners!! You have to think about pork too they are mostly intensively raised and they seem to be at the bottom of the list for people to care about!! If meat is to continually eaten then we have to fight for better standards!!
Hello Kevin
You will have to telephone or e-mail them to find out. As far as I know, in the UK there is no specific list for that.
