Am I eating healthy so far today?!

Question: Am I eating healthy so far today?
For breakfast I had 1 thick slice of French toast with half a glass of orange juice and a banana. 2 hours later I ate a pear. Than for lunch I had a homemade slice of pizza. Then later I plan on having a Kashi go lean protien bar. Should I have it? Did I eat enough for the day? Thanks for your help! btw I am a vegetarian and I am 14 years old 5 foot 2 and 90 pounds.

Answers:

No - for breakfast, try something like porridge or two slices of wholegrain toast. The OJ, banana and pear are alright. Pizza for lunch is a BIG no-no!! have something like a baked potato with a small side salad or a sandwich... or a couscous salad if you're feeling brave. If you're still feeling hungry in the afternoon, have something like a handful of nuts which is protein and you won't need crappy protein bars. Have you eaten dinner? Dinner should be light and should be eaten 2 hours before bed. :) I hope this helped.

Are you guys seriously arguing because she ate one slice of pizza and French toast? Yes, these aren't necessarily healthy, but they're okay in moderation. I hate when people act like carbohydrates are very unhealthy. From what I learned in school, you do need some carbohydrates in your daily diet. You need them to keep your heart healthy. You'll also cut grains out if you refuse to eat any type of bread, pasta, or rice. Whole-grains are needed for fiber and to keep your hearth healthy.

You ate some fruit, which is good, but you defiantly need to eat more today. Get some more veggies into your next meal instead of a Kashi bar.

If you eat like that for 50 years you'll have a 30% chance to get diabetes. The banana and the pear are the only 2 good things you ate. The carbohydrates you're eating will help you gain fat though. You definitely need more healthy fats and proteins in your diet. Drop the pizza and eat a gigantic salad with oil and vinegar dressing instead. Eat some nuts like brazil nuts, peanuts, cashews, walnuts etc. Try oatmeal and beans for breakfast (Yes they taste good together) with soy milk and raisins with blueberries. Never drink fruit juice - always eat the fruit instead. The fiber is important to your diet.

I hate when people post this stuff. "Hi, I ate these bad meals, is that okay?" Seriously, french toast is loaded with sugar and pizza is loaded with cheese. Unless you happened to have made them different...but I can't tell because you didn't post it.

No, you didn't eat enough for the day. Quite honestly, aside from the food choices the amounts of food and frequency of eating IS healthy. You don't seem to be going overboard on anything and are eating regularly. Yes, have the Kashi bar and then have yourself a sensible dinner :)

I just calculated your BMI , you are underweight.

If I were you I wouldn't be so worried , you need some healthy fat and carbs. I don't mean go and eat ten loaves of bread but do try to gain weight.

Have a salad and a bread roll later , make sure the bread roll is grainy or wholemeal (:
