PETA sucks - agreed or not?!

I think all animal rights groups 'suck'. I'm alright with animal welfare though.

NOT! Wow, it's an organization that has people who actually practice what they preach! Sure, there are a few odd balls claiming to be supporting PETA who throw green paint on fur, but you can't blame their anger when animals are skinned alive...what a painful end to a sad life in a cage.

PETA is an active organization, a "watch-dog" group that tries to encourage the world to look at what meat really is, how animals are being treated, and why it's better to be aware of abuse than to turn a deaf ear with eyes wide closed.

If for no other reason, PETA opens up topics that USDA doesn't touch. FDA doesn't touch. And that is our quality of health and what we are putting into our bodies. Mercury? Pesticides? Tainted meat? For no other reason, PETA rocks!

Here's an example:
"The EPA estimates that 600,000 children born in 2000 are at risk for lower intelligence and learning difficulties each year because of mercury exposure because their pregnant or nursing mothers ate fish." It came from PETA's website. I certainly can cross reference it with EPA's website and most certainly, I'm going to find something hidden within NIH's website. But...PETA will put it on their front page, get out on the streets, and tell people the truth upfront, loud, and clear...you know, so maybe some people will listen.

Hope you change your mind if you think PETA sucks. Read, read, read...PETA's website. It's a great source of information for your health!

oh, ok "gays are gross".... peta has helped many people become veg*n. I think overall they have claimed their place as a force to be reckoned with. I'm for animal rights philosophically but I'm pragmatist so I have to be an animal welfarist. Peta is a good organization, it does not suck despite what southpark and penn and teller says.

Wouldn't quite say "sucks", however. Some can be pushy expecting others to follow as their way being the only right way. It would be like racial predjudice where this might be called "food" predjudice. We all need to practice tolerance. It couldn't be helped how we were all born, right?

Not agreed. They neither suck nor not suck. They're just irrelevant. Some of the things they do are quite worthwhile, but those things tend to get cancelled out by the equally stupid things they do. Result = neutral.

Of course not. They have the right to express their opinion. People who say they suck disagree with them but don't know how to express disagreement in a mature way.
