Question: Some told me your life is 5 years shorter if you are vegetarian is that true?
??? I don't to live 5 years shorter

Answers:

No, it's the opposite.

Vegetarian diets and diets with less meat in them live longer.

"The September 2003 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, one of the most prestigious publications in the nutrition field, contains a special supplement devoted to vegetarian diets based on the 4th International Congress on Vegetarian Nutrition held at Loma Linda University between April 8 and April 11, 2002. Attended by over 40 world renowned nutritionists, epidemiologists, and ecologists, the conference attracted more than 450 participants from round the globe. In the special supplement 25 articles detailed many of the positive aspects of a vegetarian regimen.

The study that would immediately gain your attention is the research report that looked at the relationship between meatless diets and longevity. Four of the six studies analyzed showed that vegetarians lived longer than people who ate meat. One study focused on Seventh Day Adventists who were questioned about their eating habits. Over a 12-year period the vegetarians in the group had a 15% lower chance of dying than those eating flesh just once each week. "

Actually, in many ways being a vegetarian may prolong your life. Don't worry. Eat a balanced meal and excercise, too. Vegetables are more like pure life giving foods, not processed with unnecessary ingredients. You see more shows promoting blenders and juicers suggesting the healthiness of fruits and vegetables. Unless your doctor specifically says you are lacking certain vitamins or nutrients, you'll do fine. Always eat healthy and excercise, too!

No. As a matter of fact, if you eat a healthy, balanced vegetarian, you may increase your lifespan. Vegetarians who eat a healthy diet decrease their risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes. Of course, this is assuming you are healthy anyway ..... and you don't smoke or drink or have hereditary risk factors for diseases.

A vegetarian diet can be very healthy.... or not. I know a lot of vegetarians who eat nothing but junk food.

That's one of those statistics like 100% of people that have cancer ingested dihydro monooxide.

You can relate any two things together. There needs to be extensive research, including equal groups of vegetarians and non-vegetarians living the same lives, except for their diet. Good luck with that.

They Just don't want to accept the fact fact that vegitarians live 10 years longer on average why do you think so many peopke are told by doctors to cut out meat ? Do you thing it's cause we are Less likly to het diobeties cancer and heart disease

A vegitarian for almost two years

It totally depends on you diet, most vegetarians strictly eat main "green diets" in which you start lacking in protein and calcium etc, depending on your specific diet as a vegan/vegetarian the statement may be true, most likely it isn't though.

they are a weird storytellers

theirs no difference in lifespan between carna and herbivores.

if anything veg people live longer.

No, there are no scientific studies backing that assumption... Like people say left handed people live shorter lives... Like those two things have no bearing on how long you live...

Definitely not true.

No. That's absurd.
