Is merino wool vegan?!

Question: Is merino wool vegan?
Okay....I know wool isn't vegan but is "merino" wool somehow vegan? Call me stupid if you want......just wanted to know because I found the cutest Juicy Couture arm warmers and I reeeeeally want them & they're merino wool.

Answers:

Hi, Merino is a breed of sheep. Merino wool is just wool from that type of sheep, so no it is not vegan.
Sorry :(

Sheep are not killed for their wool. It's sheared off in the spring. They would get too hot if it were left on them all summer.

You use many of these products http://www.all-creatures.org/health/list… . Why not those cute arm warmers?

Sheep do not shed and therefore need to be sheared for their wool. This is not cruel to the animal as they are not harmed or killed.
Sheep are not sheared during the cold months because they need their wool for warmth.

Sorry love, morino wool isn't vegan. The activity behind the morino wool industry is just as crude as any other industry who exploits animals :(

No. Merino is a breed of sheep.

Merino sheep have incredibly thick coats and are often farmed in unsuibtable environments when taking this into consideration (eg: mainland Australia).

Vegan.

Merino sheep are animals the same as any other sheep.
