All vegan things: mashed potatoes, gravy, "butter", bread, green beans, sparkling grape juice, cornbread casserole, vegan citrus "spareribs", and coconut milk ice cream.
Vegan
Mmm, brussels sprouts sound really good right now. I'll have to get some after work tomorrow. :)
I had sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes & gravy, string beans, stuffed buttercup squash (rice based stuffing), homemade cranberry sauce, homemade apple sauce, carrots, broccoli, corn muffins, and my dad got a small Tofurky for me. The Tofurky wasn't too bad, except it was a little too...I guess rubbery, for me. I've been veg'n over half my life & had yet to try Tofurky because it's so expensive & I hadn't heard great things about it. I usually make my own seitan-tofu loaf, and had planned on trying a vegan "ham" loaf this year until I found out my dad bought the Tofurky. I made cupcakes and a chocolate peanut butter pudding pie, but didn't have any until Friday because I ate way too much at dinner. :) I had a popsicle around midnight though.
I had mashed potatoes (made with rice milk, topped with canned mushroom gravy), corn, cranberry sauce, green beans, and tofurkey (with rice-based stuffing). (Tofurkey wasn't my first choice, but a friend was getting it and figured I may as well try it. It was good.) For dessert, I had a small slice of pumpkin pie and a small slice of sweet potato pie.
I made three recipes from the Holiday issue of Vegetarian Times:
Shepard's Pie w/ caramelized onions and mushrooms (I had to substitute some of the ingredients)
Roasted Brussel Srpouts
Roasted Parsnips and carrots.
I also had some of my Mom's peas and Artichokes. YUM!
For dessert, vegan Blueberry Pie :)
Honey roast veg - pumpkin, carrots, parsnips, served on a bed of brown rice cooked in vege stock, with brussels sprouts and vege gravy. Followed by traditional Christmas fruit pudding and a proper organic, vanilla icecream.
I had stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, thyme gravy, tofurkey, green bean casserole, and pumpkin cake. Made it all myself, all vegan. It was such a good Thanksgiving.
