Is yogurt good for u?!

Question: Is yogurt good for u?
What's the nutritonal value

Answers:

Yogurt is a great source of protein, fiber (in some types), calcium, vitamin D, and healthy fats. Also yogurt has cultures added to it, (to give it the firm yogurtey consistency) that are really good for digestion. So, yes yogurt is good for you. Although sweetened yogurt (the kind with fruit on the bottom, or flavors like chocolate, and such have sugar amounts that exceed your daily allowance of sugar, so i'd stay away from those types. Try to get organic plain or vanilla flavored yogurt.

Overall point: Buy your yogurt organic w/ no sugar added. Typically organic and local producers are more health friendly. The organic yogurt producers here have live cultures in their yogurt which helps with digestion and bloating. They also sweeten the yogurt with honey which is also more healthy than sugar. Yogurt also provides calcium. Just be careful in your choice and if you are, there can be great benefits.

It depends on the type. Some can have large amounts of calories and fat and others can be fat free. Personally I prefer Greek yogurt both in flavor and in nutrition. Also, few yogurts are vegetarian. Most contain gelatin so you must be very careful and always read the ingredients thoroughly. Those without gelatin will often contain pectin.

Data on which kind? There's soy yogurt, sugar free yogurt, fat free yogurt..... Each container will have the nutritional information on the side.

Pure, natural yoghurt is okay, I guess.. but 'dessert' yoghurts aren't brilliant because they're packed with sugar.

It's not bad for you but the jury is still out on the particular health benefits
