Vegitarians and vegans does this upset you?!

It really does upset me, how careless people are. But honestly, unless we get a new vegan president in 2012 I'm assuming these "rules" won't change for a while.
The only thing vegetarians/vegans can really do is raise awareness for animal cruelty. I know as time goes on the number of vegetarians/vegans will definitely increase.
Yes, this upsets me! It's hypocritical and just plain wrong. Unfortunately, not all animals were born equally. If you're a dog or cat (and in the right country), then congratulations you get to live your life as a celebrated pet. On the other hand, be a turkey, and Thanksgiving, in particular, is like living a annual Apocalypse. It's disturbing, but such is life, sadly.
And, btw, being kind and loving while killing an animal is an oxymoron. Don't be so shallow to only think about the physical implications. You are still taking a life with a lethal injection.; it doesn't matter if there is no physical pain. It's just plain wrong. Compare it with taking the life of a human; we have laws that protect against killings. Obviously, killing "silently" is not humane.

It's sad, and yes, it upsets me, but people are always going to eat meat. The meat industry will never be perfect, but it will also never be eliminated. And while you can never claim to kill a healthy animal kindly, it's better to see them raised to live happy, healthy lives and slaughtered as painlessly as possible than it is to see them raised in factory farms and slaughtered without regard to the fact that they are sentient beings.

It upsets me because it is considering one animal inferior to another. and 90% of the time, its B.S that they are killed in a painless way. they are almost ALWAYS tortured to death. I think many people in our society consider animals like cows and turkeys to be "food" because our society was raised to see them as "food." whereas a dog or a cat has pretty much always been considered a pet in the western world, so people think that it would be so much worse to torture a cat or a dog because of that fact... when it all comes down to it though, that cow is still an innocent animal that should have the same rights as a dog, but unfortunately it doesnt.
It upsets me greatly. My mother and I are vegetarian while my sister and dad are not and I told my Dad that if he brings home a christmas turkey or chicken then I am leaving the house and he can have christmas without me. We're having roast potatoes and veggies instead and I couldn't be happier. Did you read the article about Obama liberated the thanksgiving turkeys? It touched my heart.

i became a vegetarian after finding out about "farms", which wasn't easy since everyone in my family is a meat-atarian. and while i won't bash someone for eating meat, i will bash on hypocrites who freak out when someone locks their dog in a kennel but never think about the meat they are eating.
vegetarian, trying to be vegan
When you kill an animal for food, you aren't tormenting it or draggin out it's death. If you are, that's a completely different matter. It is possible to humanely raise animals for meat; I should know, I've been doing it for years.
It really does upset me, a dog is no different from a cow, pig or turkey. They both suffer and feel too. Thats one of the reasons why I became a vegetarian. Because it seemed like no one really cared
Yes! I mean obviously abusing a dog or something is bad, but a lot of farm animals are treated worse, people just see them as property rather then pets.
Yeah, they're hypocrites.
As a vegan, of course.
