your face is not detoxifying. its your body reacting to the foods your now eating that you probably were not before. you could be slightly allergic to something your taking/eating. look at your diet what it used to be versus now and see what it might be.
I was a vegetarian for 6 years and the problem with your skin is simply that some people are prone to breakouts and others are not. It very well may be that your body is detoxifying itself but at the same time it may be just who you are. I have never had a breakout and after becoming a vegetarian my skin remained clear. So not only may it be coupled with your skin getting rid of the bad toxins it may simply be your skin type. Also as a side note, try nuetrogena rapid clear. I hear it works wonders!(:
Hello
You are correct, it is your body detoxing. Make sure you drink plenty of water, follow the link below to calculate how much water your body will need ok.

Is your new diet lower in fat than your previous diet? Many environmental toxins are stored in your fat cells. When you burn fat, these toxins are released into your blood stream and your body may try to flush them out through your pores. This doesn't have anything to do with a meat vs. vegetarian diet, rather it's due to a lower intake of fat. If this is what's going on, your skin will naturally clear up in two or three weeks.
Congratulations on becoming a vegetarian and deciding on a healthier diet! I've been a vegan for a few years and a vegetarian for many... there are lots of benefits: health, ethical, and environmental. Good luck!
A university nutrition course, personal research, discussion with many vegans and vegetarians, and research into environmental toxins (especially the metabolism and fat solubility of brominated fire retardants and also aluminum).
Amazingly, one of the first treatments for acne is a low dose of antibiotics. Guess what you're not ingesting these days with a vegetarian diet? The antibiotics that cattle and chickens are fed to keep them healthy while they're being raised in less than optimal conditions.
I'm guessing it's possible that your body was accustomed to the low level of antibiotics you were getting on a regular basis by eating meat and now that you're not getting that, your skin is rebelling.
If it's really bad, visit a dermatologist. They can prescribe a low dose antibiotic and ointment combination until your body can adjust to your healthier food intake.
