Question: I wannabe come a vegetarian, how do i over come my temptation for meat?
i stopped eating pig 5months ago, i stopped eating cow today, i seen videos of slaughterhouse/animal farm abuse videos and it's very saddening, it's very hard to be a non meat eater because everyone in my family eats meat... 90% of the food in my house has meat in it. i gotta tell my dad to buy vegetarian food...

Would Really Recommend you spend some time in a slaughter house

I had been contemplating going vegetarian, and then I read this article. This was basically my final push.

First, stop eating red meat, pork, chicken, and fish. I went in that order, except I skipped red meat, because I never really enjoyed it. After chicken, I made sure I stopped wearing leather, fur, and suede. Now I am completely vegan.

You really just need to persevere. If it is tempting for you to eat meat, just ignore it and think of slaughterhouses. That was how I did it.
Morningstar's Chik'n nuggets and Chik'n patties (I covered mine in hot sauce) also helped me stop eating chicken.

Vegan.

It's called commitment and willpower. Be sure you have an idea of what food you want your father to buy or he will have a reasonable argument that you don't know how to eat a balanced plant food diet and turn you down. I don't recommend relying on meat substitutes for the bulk of your new diet as they are expensive and not all that healthy, however there are lots of websites to learn all about a healthy plant food diet.

Any meat you buy at the store is all treated the same way. If you buy from a local farm, while I personally still think it's sad, the animals are treated much better. If you want to overcome that temptation for meat, you need to think about the blood, death, and suffering. After a while you won't even crave or have a taste for meat at all, I promise.
-good job on going veggie, thousands support you!:D
