depends what cheese we are talking about.

Hard Cheeses like Parmesan or Asiago practically forever, just trim the mold off..

Soft Cheeses like Brie about 3 months as they can develop E.Coli or Listeria, once opened.

Cheddar depends on moisture content, typically the longer it has been aged, the longer it will last in the fridge.

Cheese Slices if kept sealed can last up to 18 months.

It lasts until you choose to toss it, just like everything. You can usually just cut the mold off if there is a little on it and it does last for a long time but that's usually only true if it's sealed in wax or otherwise preserved.

Hello
