We vegetarians get our protein from beans, nuts, soy/tofu, and whole grains. We also eat a lot of veggies especially leafy greens. There is also a lot of vegan junk food out there (fake meat, oreos, etc). Most vegans try to base their diet off of plant proteins, whole grains, fruit, and veggies.

i dont know about most but i'll lay out some common foods for mee...
breakfast might be cereal with soy milk, a fruit like an apple, some cottage cheese, and/or toast. lunch and dinner are often a combination of a veggie sandwich on whole grain, pasta, asparagus, green beans, zucchini, salad, squash etc., cheese pizza, veggie soup, veggie burgers, veggie lasagna or enchiladas, potatoes, fruits, veggie stir fry, some kind of tofu, and fish (i'm technically a pescatarian, so i eat fish). then i have snacky foods like string cheese, cheese and crackers, carrots with hummus, spinach, whatever's available.

I couldn't tell you what most vegetarians eat but I can tell you what I eat. In place of meat in recipes, I use either mushrooms, beans/lentils or just leave it out.

Tacos
Lasagna
Pasta
Stir fry
Chili
Stews
Soups
marinated grilled veggie sandwiches
beans on toast
Salads
Grilled cheese
eggs

I could go on and on but you get the idea.

well i personally eat anything a normal person would eat except without meat. when you think about it,theres a ton of food out there that doesn't have meat in it.

I love eating Boca burgers and such. Also, anything with peanuts and bagels can help provide some of the proteins your not getting from meat. :)
