Since my blood type is O, AND I'm a vegetarian, am I screwed?!

Question: Since my blood type is O, AND I'm a vegetarian, am I screwed?
I was reading many different articles about blood type diets, and when it comes to mine, I'm a COMPLETE freak of nature. Am I screwed because I'm a vegetarian and I'm suppost to be eating the most meat out of all the other blood types? Or are there other options and supplements for me?

I thought I was doing fine eating lots of beans, but apparently I've been eating all the wrong kinds. I'm slightly above the average weight, but I never thought it was do to something like this.

Thanks for the help.

I'm a vegan with type O blood. I read the book "Eat Right For Your Blood Type," and thought "oh, no!" I talked to my doctor about it....it seems like the book is pretty much nonsense. So, the book is saying we should try to eat more like our ancestors. However, the digestive system evolves constantly, so your ideal diet should be more based off of the diet of your parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. If your parents were veg, you're golden. If you're parents survived off of nothing but beef jerky...there is still hope. It will take longer for your body to adjust to a veg diet, but it can and will adjust. The adjustment period has to do with the bacteria in your intestine. Taking probiotics will help your intestines through the transition. Even if it's difficult at first, your digestive system can adapt to anything because humans are omnivorous.

Vegan

All necessary nutrients are available from Vegan sources. Assuming that the blood type thing is true, there might be certain things that are most important for your blood type that are readily available in meat, but that doesn't mean that those same nutrients aren't also available in sufficient quantities from Vegan sources. If you are worried about a specific nutrient, do a web search for 'Vegan source of [nutrient]'

I'm O blood type, and a vegan (have been since I was 10 years old).

All of my bloodwork (nutritional, etc.) has always come back spot-on.

I'm pregnant now, and my OB was shocked when she saw that not only do I not have any of the deficiencies that "normal" pregnant women do, but that I'm also a vegan who has taken maybe 4 of her prenatal vitamins during 26 weeks of pregnancy. :)

So... my answer is that no, you're not "screwed". lol. I've looked at those blood-type-diets out of amusement, and frankly, they seem to be a load of crap in general.

the "blood type diet" is completely ridiculous! If you don't feel good eating what your eating than change it, but if you feel fine then don't worry about it!

This diet is completely unscientific! You can also predict personalities from blood types but of course that won't fit everyone either!

The blood type diet is pseudoscience. It's no more reliable than palm reading or astrology. You're fine as a vegetarian.

The only way you're "screwed" is if you don't recycle that dippy book.

Your blood type has nothing to do with diet.
